PSA to old and new Destiny players alike:
If you’re doing public events with a group please please PLEASE just go ahead and (try to at least) make it heroic instead of just melting the bosses. If you’re alone you can do whatever you want, but it doesn’t take that much longer to do and I (and others) sure would appreciate it.
P.S. If you don’t know how to make certain events go heroic, I can send you a graphic that tells how to make each and every event heroic. Plus there are plenty of YouTube videos if you’re a visual person!
And if you’re wondering why it’s important: Heroic Events give more rewards! This is particularly important considering most people, especially in Tangled Shore, do events for materials or Ghost fragments.
Thanks for explaining I wasn’t sure how to word it ^^
For everyone asking, here’s the infographic on how to make things heroic! All credit goes to Niris! Check him out because he has a lot of other helpful infographics including everything happening at weekly reset.
I got all the ornaments from the pass!
HELPING AUSTRALIA: STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT
In the last few weeks, you may have heard about the bush fires that are currently impacting Australia. With every Bungie Foundation effort, we are reminded of how much good can come from the gaming community.
Sr. Foundation Manager Christine Edwards has details on our upcoming efforts to assist those in need, opening an avenue for Guardians around the world to lend a helping hand.
Christine: Over the past two decades, the Bungie community has been an amazing force for good in our world by raising millions of dollars to assist those in distress. In addition to supporting thousands of children through our iPads for Kids Program, you have helped victims of hurricanes Katrina and Harvey and have donated to those affected by earthquakes in Haiti, Japan, and Nepal. Time and time again, you have been Guardians to others in their greatest time of need.
The bush fires currently ravaging Australia have been devastating. Many people have lost their homes, firefighters are risking their lives daily, and an estimated hundreds of millions of wild animals have fallen victim to the fires.
We are developing a limited-edition T-shirt fundraising campaign to support both Australia’s firefighting efforts and the country’s animal rescue and conservation efforts. The T-shirt, which comes with an exclusive Destiny 2 “Star Light, Star Bright” emblem redemption code with purchase, will be available for pre-order on the Bungie Store and Bungie Store EU between Thursday, January 16 and Tuesday, February 18 at 9 a.m. Pacific, ending with the weekly reset and the end of Crimson Days. The team is currently hard at work on the T-shirt design and we’ll share a preview early next week.
The first half of all profits generated by these T-shirt sales will be donated to WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organization. The other half will be donated to NSW Rural Fire Service, which services the state of New South Wales, where the fires have been especially devastating and are in dire need of containment.
Be sure to check out next week’s edition of This Week at Bungie for more details on how you can support Australia through this fundraiser. In the meantime, our hearts go out to all that are impacted and we are wishing for clearer skies ahead.

Festival of the Lost
In a universe where darkness appears around every corner and death usually follows, it’s important to gain courage by looking fear in the face. Candy helps, too.
After taking a year off, Eva Levante has returned as the herald of the Festival of the Lost. This holiday is a time for Guardians to don irreverent masks and celebrate the memories of those that are lost.As a growing threat looms ever-present, return to the Tower, grab some candy, and remind yourself what you’re fighting for.
DARK THE HALLS
With Eva’s return comes a renewed dedication to decorations. Candles, lights, cobwebs, and pumpkins adorn every nook and cranny of the Tower to ensure spirits will be raised.
Speak with Eva to begin your journey and acquire a Masquerader Helmet to participate. Earn Chocolate Strange Coins from bounties and activities to purchase Festival of the Lost mask ornaments for your new helmet. All Destiny 2 players can partake in the festivities, including New Light players who need to be 770 Power to begin.
Back by popular demand, Candy makes its sweet return as a reward to be spent towards Mystery Grab Bags and the Braytech Werewolf Legendary Auto Rifle. After acquiring the fully Masterworked 950 Power weapon, create your own monster with random rolls.
FOREST THROUGH THE TREES
While the festival is underway, Guardians are needed to return once more to the Haunted Forest and defeat the fiends, ghouls, and terrors that lie within. You’ll have 15 minutes to make it as far as you can go, but beware of what awaits you at the end.
TERROR-VERSE
There are more treats to be had in the Eververse if you’d like to further customize your Guardian’s costume. From spooky scary skeleton armor ornaments to Jack-O’-Lantern masks, we’re sure you’ll find something to terrorize your enemies.
To those witches and Warlocks out there who are looking for some good clean fun, your favorite spooky Sparrow has returned.
The Festival of the Lost is a time to honor those who have passed on. Make sure to let your Crucible enemies remember it forever with their own personal tombstone.
Join us in the Tower and beyond and help us celebrate the Festival of the Lost beginning on October 29 and concluding on November 19.
If you’ve still got a sweet tooth for delectable details, head to our official Festival of the Lost Guide.
