Forest Fire

He could feel it, it wasn't happening to him personally, but the forest was burning. Ash could tell, the consuming biting heat of a fire raging out of control. He could smell the burning pines and leaves without even opening the window. Ash's eyes watered and he hit the window pane with a fist. The fire was eating the forest, but he was a part of the forest, even if he was no longer in it. Ash was in pain, and before he knew it, he was screaming.

“Okay and what is a weapon spirit?” Ash still had many human terms to learn it seemed.

“It’s um… When an item is a weapon it’s spirit or something is called a weapon spirit,” Colt tried to explain. “I heard another item say it.”

"Okay... but what is a weapon?" Ash then asked.

“Well that’s because I am a Mountain Ash tree,” Ash said, clasping his hands together and rocking back on his heels. “You had a life before you were an item?”

“You’re the Ash tree?” Colt ashed as he looked at him. He then shook his head. “I’m a weapon spirit before. I just never had a form until I was made into the Colt by Samuel Colt,” he explained. “Then a witch made me human and fleshy.”

Cam walks up the stairs, wingless once again. “I was just doing some laundry…what would you like for breakfast?”
