It was secluded, her Aidan’s cabin. The kids seemed to like it - a lake wasn’t too far off and Brian did like to fish. They’d only been here a few days, but already the fear and worry that clung to her was slowly melting. She’d hadn’t seen anything of Bard, no tracks, no other cars. Her kids were upstairs, still sleeping, when the knock came.

Her stomach tightened up, turning the shove off before walking towards the door. Sigrun paused a moment before enclosing her hand around the handle, taking a breath and opening it. Breath seemed to leave as she stared at Aidan, feeling like she was in a dream. He was there. He was standing in front of her.

"Aidan-"

Her arms were thrown around his neck, pulling him towards her. Her face buried in his neck, she tightened her grip on him. “You’re back- but I thought you had a few more months?” Her voice was mumbled against his neck, but she knew he heard her.

He slings his back off his shoulder as he pulls her into a hug. "Yeah, M'here." Aidan's voice is soft as he brushes his hands through her hair. "Well, I made a few calls and pulled some strings.  Let's go inside."

Gently, he pushes her backward, dragging his bag behind him. 

Once inside, he leans down and presses his lips to hers. 

"I'm here now."
