In need of some dog advice!

I have an 8ish month old spayed German Shepherd mix who I adopted from the shelter at 4 ½ months of age. When I got her, she was half house trained. She was very bad about asking to go outside and would pee right in front of me. When I was away, she would pee and poop in her crate and eat her poop.

She has since stopped eating her poop but she STILL pees. I buy new blankets for the crate (she chewed the pan and I haven’t gotten another yet) and I bought Nature’s Miracle “No Marking” and it hasn’t worked at all. She does not drink water before she goes in the crate and she goes out to pee & poop before I put her in there for 7-8 hours. I have had her urine and fecal tests done and she doesn’t have a UTI or parasites.

When I’m home, she whines to go outside. Sometimes she pees on my floor if I forget to take her out before a nap or something. When she had access to water it’s like she’s never seen it before and she drinks for 45 seconds straight if I let her, so I only allow her to drink for 10 second intervals at a time.

I spent a lot of money on dog training and the trainer thinks this is behavioral and that I need to catch her in the act of peeing in the crate to scold her, but she never does it when I’m home. Will she grow out of it? I’m afraid to use diapers because I think she will chew them to shreds like she does with potty pads. Help!
