Happy world snake day! Here are a few not so good pics of Monterrey (Pituophis vertebralis) I took before it got way too hot out. He's such a calm snake, but did rattle at a few hummingbirds that flew over.
Here's my digital sketch for the August Pumpkinseed Print Club 4x6. The theme for August is southeastern atlantic coast! The print is a lil family of sanderlings. It's going to be a bit of an experimental piece for me, I'm gonna combine watercolor and gouache for the first time. I'm definitely going to film painting it, and will share the process later! Might stream if my computer is up for it too.
Also as a general reminder, the last day to sign up for July's Art Pack is tomorrow! You can sign up for any of the tiers via ko-fi. Thanks! ☀️🐟
I've gotten several new asks over the past week or so and I promise I am not ignoring you! I'm having another issue with one of my meds, it's getting filled back today but I really want to be able to give you the thoughtful responses you guys deserve and my brain is just, really fried atm. I'm hoping to start feeling better in a few days and I should be able to get back to you relatively soon. sowwy ;-;
A 6x8" watercolor & ink pet portrait commission with gardenias and vanilla oreos!
Quick reminder that folks who sign up for my art mail club at any tier get 10% off art commissions ~ I'm working on August's goodies rn and they are turning out too cute (the theme is the southeastern atlantic coast!)
A gargoyle gecko friend asked for some updated pics of Melon so here he is! I still don't know what sex he is (I forgot how ambiguous little gargoyles can be) but he is a lil cutie.
Very fired up in these pics, the first one in the cup outside is probably closest to color accurate.
I love his baby blue eyes and horns.. what a creature
Ended up removing the plant pot, it was going to make the grout / sealant process too difficult. It's very awkward to reach all the spots since 125s have a big glass brace in the center of the tank. Carved away some more as well. I finally think I'm happy with the initial build so I'm prepping for the first layer of grout now.
Gonna start with the right side since that's going to be a much easier job.
I steam cleaned the baby hog's tubs today and I thought, in my innocence, I should take some nice pics of them while they are in deli cups waiting for the tubs to cool down. They had other plans. Quartz got me in the finger vein and was attached for about 5 seconds before I was able to put the phone down and detach him. Thankfully I do not react much (protip do not let hognoses chew on you) but it did bleed a good bit. So instead of nice pics we get super ugly ones from the top. yuck
