Michael Cunningham, from “The Hours,” originally published c. 1998
The poison leaves bit by bit, not all at once. Be patient. You are healing.
Yasmin Mogahed (via quotemadness)
“And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.”
— John Steinbeck
oh to be a statue of a goddess covered in moss, somewhere in the garden of the enchanted ruins the castle left behind, for birds to take rest on my shoulders and for animals to sleep in front of my feet, for no ordinary humans to be reached
just write a shitty poem, what do you have to lose
“Their love turns to fresh fruit in the heat, A slow rotting taking place at the centre, Disguised by mouth-watering scents And once-sweet flesh that glistens deceivingly Under a sheen of early-morning dew.”
— 020. february second / bloomfieldpoems
I haaate boys :///
I step closer. you feel my kisses on your breath, my voice sparkles in your ears.
open your eyes into me
fill your lungs with my perfume,
glittering excitement,
small slender arms wrap around your broad frame
you step back. your organs pressed flat beneath the paper weight of my heart
skin pale, transparent, glass, shattered
my right ventricle flutters, flies,
my left ventricle falls, fumbles, falters.
I step back. your room silent, hard, icy.
a faded giggle through paper walls traces your ear, my jaw in the crack in plaster, my fingers in the tangled wires of neon lights. the moon grins through the window and a blue light spills onto your floor.
I laugh and smile, teeth dazzling and dancing in the dark, your arms reach out and hold nothing but the still twilight air.
all i want to do is kiss and feel things, like emotions ykno
E.E. Cummings, Complete Poems, 1904-1962
okay but if a person asks if your okay and you say no and start to explain why but then they leave you on delivered for hours do they really care or do they want to look considerate and feel good about themselves???
