I’ve done it that way. It just takes some practice if you’re not used to the coordination.

Hi guys, I was into Led Zeppelin for years, especially Jimmy Page, so I bought his book (Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page). Tbh I don’t really look at it. Honestly, it’s basically still new because I looked at it twice since taking it out of the box.

If you’re interested in buying it, i’m selling it on eBay for $42 (plus shipping in the US). Just letting ya’ll know ahead of anyone who’ll stumble across it on there because I’m still fond of the classic rock fandom on here. It’s a fantastic book, it’s just not my kinda book anymore, so why hold onto it when someone else can have it in that great o condition?

Learning how to Sight Read music notation for the first time. I have a problem where my eyes tend to lag behind what I'm playing, even on slow tempos so in the end I'm playing my muscle memory instead of sight reading. Any advice?

tbh I feel like muscle memory is one of the most important things to get established when learning a song, but I hear you, that you wanna sight read because muscle memory will come naturally. The thing about sight reading is you have to look ahead. It becomes second nature after a while to where you don’t even think about it, but really look at the note ahead and take it slow enough where you have time to process the value and pitch of the note. Sometimes we end up looking two or three notes ahead, the whole thing is to know where you’re going next so lagging doesn’t happen, or you don’t miss the note. Some of my profs say it’s like learning how to read, so be easy on yourself, just always be ahead when you read sheet music
