One lesson from the quarantine is that every single job which can be telecommuted without serious drawbacks should have telecommute as the assumed default for all employees of that position. 

There is no reason for so many people to commute via vehicle to a traditional office for jobs that can be done effectively from your own home.

Prior to the internet, offices served an important role in centralizing certain methods of logistical management. Now the only purpose of an office building is to stroke the Ego of the person who owns the company. Even the argument that a boss must be able to keep an eye on their employees falls apart given how many “productivity management software” tools are available to the modern employer. (And used in such physical office-spaces anyway.)
