Time to start slow again. Went for a good walk after work. Found a possible fitness plan that I can do, that doesn’t involve fitness pizza in my belly. Here’s to a better me! 25 MUSICIANS SHARE THEIR BEST SONGWRITING TIPS, TECHNIQUES, IDEAS, AND EXERCISES
Sometimes you just can’t find the inspiration you need for your next song.
You’ve tried everything - searching google for new songwriting tips, downloading different songwriting apps to help you get organized, and you find that nothing is working to help you find the inspiration you need to write a great song.
That’s because songwriting is a personal process. There’s no one size fits all approach to songwriting.
Because of this, instead of putting together a simple list of songwriting tips from our own research, we decided to ask experienced songwriters, musicians, and producers to share their best songwriting tips, techniques, ideas, and exercises, and compiled the best responses.
The responses consist of people who make a living as a songwriter, artists who’ve been signed to major and large independent labels and toured with superstars, and even independent artists who are just starting out, but make awesome music from years of songwriting experience.
Responses also come from a diverse set of musical styles, including singer/songwriter, heavy metal, punk rock, and electronic, and others.
Here are the 25 best songwriting tips we received from musicians, professional songwriters, and producers to help you explore new songwriting techniques to find what works best for you. - READ MORE

So...I went to @barrett_jackson Scottsdale last week. They had some ride and drives. Took a ride in a Dodge Charger Hellcat. Holy balls! Here's the hot lap. #dodgecharger #hellcat #chargerhellcat #hellcatcharger
2016 was an odd year. It wasn't necessarily the best for a multitude of reasons, but looking back at the #best9of2016 I can see I'm truly a lucky man. I see that my family is what I'm truly proud of, and that's the God's honest truth, but I need to make sure that I'm living in a way that they are proud of me. That is my goal for 2017: to live in a way that honors my family and lead by example. To all who read this, hold me accountable because I'm gonna need help! Happy New Year Instafriends!
Having ADHD feels like we were made in a parallel universe and we divide our existence between that universe and this one. So we live constantly trying to fit into everyone else’s universe when our physiology doesn’t match.
The key for us is to find out how we can accomodate both so we can live more comfortably without having to spend most of our energy and emotions in trying to force ourselves to fit in as if we were like other people.
One Thing You Need To Know About ADHD
Your comments do nothing.
Every time you tell me to focus, I hear “even your best isn’t good enough.”
Every time you say “don’t do THAT!” In a condescending tone of voice, I hear “you are a stupid, naive little child.”
Every time you say “it’s not that big a deal” I hear “you are a drama queen” and “you are a child.”
You’re not giving me the awesome advice you think you are.
So stop it.
What I Want People Without ADHD To Understand About ADHD...
1. I don’t do things for the obvious reason.
Your mind goes A, B, C, D. Mine goes B, 5, X, cucumber. Don’t try to guess my motivations because you’ll get it wrong and I won’t know how to correct you.
2. I’m deeper than I seem.
My hyper appearance always makes me look superficial. I’m not. I’m a deep thinker.
3. I don’t know how to say my thoughts.
I speak brokenly. Punctuated with “uh, um, like” , and mumbled segments, I speak too fast and rarely communicate what I mean. It’s frustrating.
4. I do not overreact or underreact. I process things wrong.
My brain doesn’t understand the hierarchy of reactions, which is why I’ll calmly talk about how my friend completely dissed me, and then freak out for hours if I get a C on a paper.
5. I feel more than you do.
Are you distracted by humming lights? Will a leaf blowing across your peripheral vision break your train of thought? When was the last time you had to unplug your phone because it was making too much noise while charging? Right now, there’s a clock ticking somewhere, and it isn’t in my room.
6. You will never see things the way I do.
And I’ll never see things the way you do.
7. It’s not on purpose.
I jump from conversation to conversation. I interrupt or ignore by accident. I’m sorry.
8. I have static in my head.
You know those ADHD tests that ask if there is static or “noise” in your head? That’s not a trick. Some of us do have actual static.
9. My thoughts are truly distracting.
When I try to sleep, I hear music in my head that’s so loud it hurts my ears. I’m serious. It’s not even funny.
10. I’m good at a lot. I’m not “lucky,” it really just levels the playing field.
If I was at your level of brain power, I would not function. All of it would be spent on the little focus I have now. I’m wicked smart, yeah. I also couldn’t organize anything if I wanted too and paying attention in class…well…anywhere…
Life gets hard at times. Ups and downs will be a part of every single thing, job, or relationship. It's all possible to overcome, but you have to realize, overcoming these times cannot be done without hard work, support, and faith in God. This angel and I have had many ups and downs, but we are overcoming them with a lot of said hard work, support, and faith in God. It would not have been possible for me to even begin to do this without her. Kelly is amazing, and I am thankful for her every day...even when she's mad at me. I love her more than I can ever explain. She inspires me, and pushes me to be better, and I could never thank her enough. @kec2341 #goingonelevenyearstogether #livelifeasgodintendedyouto #godsplanisperfect #trueloveknowsnoroadblock #openyoureysearsandheart #readytotacklethisworld
