When Fancy Feast told me she wanted to commission a portrait from me, I lost my mind a little bit. Then I continued losing it when she dropped “Mucha” and “carnivorous plants” and let me loose. I adore this woman, and it was a pleasure and a privilege to paint her. This is probably one of my most favorite burlesque performer portraits so far.

As a woman in her 40s I’m starting to ask myself what will be left behind when youth and beauty is gone. Coz suddenly the world is looking different and I realise I’m no longer valuable in the eyes of a lot of people now there is an absence of those things.

But at least I still smile. That’s probably why I’m getting fine lines but I refuse to stop smiling 😆
