OUT DIGITALLY NOW! GDR:002 THE WAIT IS OVER!
Available next month on CD and by the end of Summer, Vinyl; "Believe Me" is alethio's 3rd release. The second album from Gum:Drop and alethio's first on the new label, lookout for a brand new single to drop soon! The album comes from a place in the songwriter's life that is almost too inconceivable to be put into words.
Metaphors about the truth cascade through one dimension into the next synthetically sound parable until the theme is there:Make Yourself. Maybe it's fitting his high school band found their name by typing Incubus into a thesaurus (Friar Rush fans, I'm looking at you). Album release taping planned for May 30th at Red Dragon Studios and album release show June 21st as part of Make Music Madison.
Expect two distinctly unique interpretations of the album. For fans of Rock, Folk, Blues, and Electronic flavorings, the stew that Percussionist Alan Greenberg and Mastering Artist Bob Manor (The Getaway Drivers) helped alethio (Tom Schriner-Schmitt, others) cook up is tasty and quite appealing to all! Come try a listen! Album cover art by the deliberately intuitive Barb Schriner-Schmitt; lyric booklet featuring the brilliant Logan Ladd coming soon digitally for purchasers of the album! <3, Gum:Drop

Something About Water GD:LP 01 by Joseph O'seph
Water flows to fill the spaces that earth doesnât cover, in the same way âSomething About Waterâ fills the space todayâs popular music leaves empty. Almost fated never to exist, what stands here is a collection of songs recorded by Midwest poet and folk artist Joseph Oâseph on his home computer in Redford, MI right after a freestyle word rampage of the soul which cleansed the artistâs notepad and pen.
Interspersed amongst these are pieces of unique and free stream-of-consciousness poetry that Oâseph has completely mastered. His current live shows consist of mostly material that hasnât and never will again exist. Yet like the water cycle, evaporating into thin air only appears to the eye as the finality of existence. We go on living this life in a world we really only now are just beginning to understand.
For fans of artists that bear more than their sleeves, in the tradition of Daniel Johnston, Jandek, or Lou Barlow; with the pop sensibility of a Hip-Hop MC. "Something About Water" is a distinctly different listening experience. Not because it's ironic, but because you can't live on air alone. You need at least two liters of water everyday!
Free Download of a track off soon-to-be first LP released on Gumdrop Records: Joseph O'seph's "Something About Water" is the most recent transparent, sonically-shifting wave collection of Midwest folk poet artist Joe O'Connor. stay tuned! view first single "Bacteria" and download here: http://gumdroprecs.tumblr.com/post/15612227905/joseph-oseph-the-anti-anti-folk-artist-from here is the trailer for the album: http://gumdroprecs.tumblr.com/post/18831358806/g-d-lp-01-joseph-osephs-something-about-water COMING SOON G:D LP 01 next aLETHIO GD LP 02 more details coming soon!

Joseph O'seph, the Anti- Anti-Folk artist from Detroit, MI is really more of a satirical wizard than a songwriter. Still his artistic nature allows him to create songs of pure honesty and emotional triumph. For fans of the individual nature. Believers in the future.
The funniest Pro-Life billboard ever.

These are the top ten records we liked this year. Actually lived, like, couldn't stop hearing when we ran around and did stuff and stuff. so totally here it goes:
..almost forgot. Runners up are also listed. Forgotten albums will be added. Pitchfork changes their reviews years later, and since this list only exists to make fun of the generalizations about society which critics and niches and cliques and organizations create, that makes it kind of funny, if not ironic. but who the hell cares what words mean anymore anyway!?
