also!!! perhaps a bit random, but i semi-recently made a sims side blog to sort of document my cc library, and was thinking of perhaps posting some oc content on there. i have no clue if that is like. at all interesting to anyone, but if it is then i might share it with u all!!!
i keep saying it but i will have a post here soon sort of talking abt shuu and stuff - kind of the last one, i guess! at least for awhile, at least that’s planned.
i feel a bit silly - like im making a big deal out of everything when it’s not important. however this has been the end of an era for me, a 10 year long hyperfixation/coping mechanism that ended rather suddenly, that i’ve based my social media off of for the last 5 or so years - i almost feel like the least i can do is make a proper post going into everything a bit, considering most (if not all) of my followers are because of shuu tsukiyama / Tokyo Ghoul.
also need to have a little think about how/if i’m going to continue sing tumblr. i’m not really sure about all that yet though.
i’ve been inactive a little while now, i do apologise to all the messages i’ve missed! just busy being depressed and watching zootopia 2…hope everyone had a good christmas.
i think how i use tumblr going forward is going to be a little different - how i manage this place in a post-shuu mental state, i suppose. i know most of you are here for shuu or tokyo ghoul, i’m going to write a long post on ghostalope about that and how i feel about everything in about February time, as opposed to the normal end of year waffle i post on there.i if my dates are correct, February of 2026 is 10 years since i first got obsessed with shuu, so i think this type of post is good to time with then. it will also officially be the year of the horse in February, and that sort of feels right too - the end of one cycle and the beginning of my horsey cycle.
anyway. hope everyone is okay. i am sorry i’m no good at being online or anything. things have been so so hard. i hate the cold and i am tired and i have been tired so long. there is so much wrong, but i keep on going. i don’t know when i’ll see you all next, but it might be in February. i don’t know what to do on here anymore, aha.

I’m probably the world’s worst cinephile, so my answer might be a little limited, but I have been thinking abt this a lot actually!
My first thought was this kind of random headcanon I have that I cannot shake him starring in Zootopia’s version of Mamma Mia. Like I’m not sure why but he reads to me as being like, especially ABBA coded. I just feel like he would suit the vibe of Mamma Mia; it feels like an appropriate level of camp for him, I think. Also reckon he would be in the Zootopia Barbie Movie tbh.
So, Mamma Mia aside, and aside from the action/karate films we know he’s been in, I would say westerns might be a good guess. Of course Zootopia cowboys would be horses. Of course.
I guess from the western idea I could talk the other horse-heavy films we have irl - like how Bojack played Secretariat type thing. Maybe Brian would be in Seabiscuit, idk. A lot of horse films are just kind of depressing though, and I think I need to see more of Winddancer’s character to asses what kind of ‘serious’ films he might be in.
Fantasy is one of the genres I know least about, aside from like, The Last Unicorn and watching a bit of the Witcher, but I do think that’s a good idea! There are so many horses in irl fantasy movies so I can for sure imagine how that would translate in Zootopia universe. Also his long luscious mane…feel like there’d be some good visual references there. There is also the whole unicorn/pegasus/kelpie/etc thing. I could also totally see him starring in some Hercules type story, or any kind of heroic myth retellings - but I guess those come under action and a bit of fantasy, so not exactly a revelation I guess lol.
I feel like he might be in some kinda camp, schlocky slasher, maybe early on in his career? I’m thinking like Jennifer Aniston in the first Leprechaun, or Kevin Bacon in Friday the 13th type thing. Speaking of Kevin Bacon; Winddancer’s costuming in The Neighsayer is giving Kevin Bacon in Tremors imho. Like, it’s also giving Fabio, yeah, but I think of Tremors every time I see it!
I’m saying all this with the assumption that Winddancer doesn’t take himself too seriously. I feel like the little we’ve seen of his character so far implies that? Might just be Patrick Warburton voice giving me that idea though, can’t be sure.
I’m really intrigued to find out more about his acting career as whole tbh - hopefully we get some crumbs in the film when it comes out. I’d be curious to find out when he started acting, etc. Iirc, I think at d23 they said that he’d played a Mayor before actually becoming one; I’d really like to get more context for that role also. I think that’s gotta be important, right?

i feel bad admitting this but. i haven’t been thinking or posting about shuu as much as i used to for these last 3 months, and i feel better for it.

perhaps waxing poetic over nothing, perhaps am being so silly, but. recently have been obsessed - all consuming everyday 24/7 on the trot obsessed - with the zootopia 2 horse mayor, right? and i’m still very much very ill and very much not living my life the way i want, very much nowhere near where i want to be, still getting nowhere fast, still not being myself or anything really. but i feel like i have a lot more clarity, i feel like i’ve been making realisations about myself and the person i was pre-obsession and present day. (stay with me here) so even though i feel no better, i feel as if i have made crucial revelations about myself integral to getting somewhere.
that’s all to say; i still love shuu. he is still so dear to me, and i still intend to write stories about him and make art or stuff about him, to think excessively about him, buy too much merch and dedicate too much time to him. however. not overthinking about him as much, worrying that by thinking about a different character that i’m ‘losing’ my love of him, not overthinking every post or every comment or being nervous in a community that i have tried to distance myself from, not having to think abt the stupid or cringe things i’ve done in his name or bc of him - not making a character into my guardian angel who i’m forever indebted to - it’s been really really nice.
i think i put too much pressure on myself to write or draw things about him - that the reason i loved those things was either because of him, or some kind of qualifier that showed my love for him was real, that if i couldn’t do those things i was useless and boring. whereas now i still struggle to function, to live anywhere in reality, to be who i want to be, i have realised that he was only ever a contributing factor to my love of these things, why i wanted to do them - why i want to make art, to write, and so on…yes partly because he is a ‘muse”, i guess, but i don’t need a muse to enjoy those things.
i don’t think i’m making sense - but this blog is not for sense, not really.
i just think that gaining some distance from shuu - not being the girl whose only notable quality is ‘big shuu tsukiyama fan!’ - has been good for me.
i mentioned the zootopia 2 horse at the start of this because that’s where this sort of transition started - i don’t think i’m replacing one unhealthy obsession with another, this is different. yes i’m not normal about him, but maybe going through the premature phase of this kind of obsession again, now 21 years old, not 12, has allowed me to see that a lot of issues weren’t because of shuu per se, but because of how i carried myself about him. i hope that makes sense.
being obsessed with something new, in a way that i haven’t been able to push down or contain, that i cannot put down for five seconds because i’m missing out on Precious Shuu Time - it’s challenged me a bit. i’ve had to confront myself on a lot of things, because shuu has been so integral to my life for so long, and the idea of not having that sort of anchor has been so scary for that time. letting go of that a bit, prying my identity away from the Shuu Girl, not having to dedicate everything to him; has meant that i feel a lot more like i’m in the process of becoming me, not just the girl on twitter that posts abt an anime character and cries as her life passes her by. it’s also nice to obsess over a character you don’t really know much about yet, but also a character that isn’t Just Like Me, fr fr, y’know?
the zootopia fandom too - it’s nothing like the tg fandom, and that’s the only other fandom i’ve gotten deep in. it’s also kinda small, but so different; if i used tumblr more maybe i’d post to it. it’s really nice to be kinda an outsider in it. i have a teeeeeny circle of winddancer moots on twitter, and it’s nothing like i’ve had before. everyone feels so nice, all excited and hanging on every screenshot or factoid abt z2. there’s not that sort of competition or pretension or irritation i felt with the other fandom - no stupid cringe socially anxious unhinged events from the past or grown women who started beef with me wandering around (not salty abt that last one…i swear) - it’s nice. it’s nice to have something different, where i don’t have much history in. it’s not as serious, and feels more grown-up, weirdly, but only probably because i’m not 16 anymore.
i know replacing one obsession with another isn’t the answer, and i don’t think i’m doing that. i feel like i can get to a place where these characters are just an autistic hyperfixation or hobby, not something all-consuming, that’s all i am and all i think i have.
a lot of why i clung to shuu was because of being so ill, and so fucking lonely, and i don’t blame myself for that. that saved my life - shuu did save my life, and that’s sort of the problem. when you have lived so horribly for so long, when you have been so traumatised for so long, so afraid, isolated, and anxious; it is understandable to cling to something, and to cling to it still even when your life is no longer in a place where trauma is occurring. the issue is that i’ve been clinging to something like i’m still being abused - i’ve been still in survival mode - when the danger has now long since passed and it’s time to put that energy back into me, - and by me, i mean me, not the shuu tsukiyama fan, and not ghostalope or gunkbaby or whatever user either.
i don’t quite know where i’m going with this, i guess the tldr this is basically; turns out unhealthy obsessions are unhealthy and it took a new unhealthy obsession for me to realise that my coping mechanism was kinda overkill and that’s maybe why everything has been so hard. oh, and not being on social media. yeah, that’s probably part of it too.

What I think this arc tried to convey other than my initial interpretation since the masquerade, is the difference of mindset between Tsukiyama and Rize. There’s no way someone read Tsukiyama’s passionately monologue about foods and taste and doesn’t immediately wish to see his and Rize’s interaction. You’d think a gourmet and binge eater probably have something in common. Sui Ishida illustrates their interactions so beautifully and establishes the huge difference between them just as we are about to start.
Tsukiyama cares and tries to make things nice for himself. His reason for eating is to perfect himself. He’s driven by a perfectionist ideal. It’s like taking in the knowledge of being a ghoul and thinking if I have to do this I want to make it beautiful and perfect for myself. I don’t have to go low for the way I was born. Something Rize made fun of because to her he wasn’t fully accepting his nature and to care about such things meant imitating something he wasn’t.
There is a reason Rize’s side story is exactly after this arc and showing the difference between their way of accepting and living.
And the last thing for Kimi to accept Nishiki’s nature seeing beauty in Touka comes to the guilty feeling they have deep down like it’s a sin for the way they were born.
