“Of course, I mean I should right?” Maya questions as she smiles at him. She still felt bad about putting him that position to take care of her that night when he honestly didn’t have to. Especially after the fact that she was all upset over the fact that Lola and Hunter were getting close. Or at least that’s what it seemed like in her eyes. “I still wanted to apologize for it and for basically getting you probably involved in some of this dumb drama whenever that was the last thing I wanted to happen.” Maya said as she lets out a sigh. She looks up at him and nods understanding what he meant. The last thing she would want is for feelings to grow stronger and then it end up not working out. “No. It’s not fair to you anyway. You deserve someone who knows exactly who they want to be with, not mixed up in this mess. You deserve someone that’s a lot better than me in general.” Maya said as she looks away from him.

“You should. But I’m surprised you remembered I can’t eat banana flavored things and picked out the banana laffy taffy from the pack.”, he pointed out with a small laugh as he grabbed a piece and ate one. He looked over at her, shaking his head as he finished his candy. “Drama seems to follow me, no matter how much I try for it not to. So stop apologizing ok? I promise, I’m a big boy. I can handle a little hassle from mini-me Saunders over this.”, he said with a small laugh. He shook his head, sighing a little. “You’re a good person, Maya. You deserve to be happy. I don’t think I really deserve a girl like you, honestly. I’m not so great, trust me. You don’t want all my crap in your life for the long run. Guys like Hunter, Cam..they’ve got futures and money. I..don’t know if I’ll have either sometimes.”

“i’d love that! it’d totes be so much fun.” she gave kc a jubilant grin, her expression soon shifting at the mention of the blonde. “mmm, i don’t know about good friends. feels like a little more than that to me,” said lola, though her gaze cast downward as a new feeling of insecurity washed over her. “ohmigosh, do you think that i think we’re more than we are? like, what if hunter thinks we’re friends and i think we’re more than that? we went on, like, a date, but still! it could’ve just been a friendly date- oh no, now i’m worried.” it only takes her a moment before realizing, hey, what would this guy know about my relationship with hunter, anyway? “comfy? yeah- haha, he’s not the most, um, pda type guy, but i try to get it in where i can.” 

he laughed a little bit, enjoyed by her enthusiasm over something so small and fun. “i got you covered, you’ll be a pro in no time.”, he told her before turning his attention the main topic at hand. “what, you think they’re more than friends?” he asked her curiously. he knew they were still friends, but he didn’t know the extent of hunter’s feelings, and he felt it wasn’t his place to pry about them either. at her words, he didn’t quite know what to say. should he encourage her or would this be betraying maya? maybe remaining neutral was the best course of action, he thought. “i think maybe you need to mention the idea of being more than friends with him? put yourself out there and i think things will work out how they’re suppose to.”

“Hi.” Maya said when he finally arrived at the location she had texted him. “Yeah, I was hoping you’d remember it.” Maya teases back. She has the bag of candy in her hands still before she hands it to him. It’s basically all of his favorites because of course she would know what he likes. “I wanted to apologize for the other night. You having to come get me and then the whole thing that happened at the party. I’m sorry, things just got I don’t know out of hand with feelings being thrown out in the open.” Maya said as she lets out a small sigh. 

He grabbed the bag of candy, peering inside and smiling that she’d thought to get his favorites. “You know me too well by this point.”, he said as he walks over to the hood of his car to sit down. She was always thoughtful and thinking about him, something he’d come to enjoy these past few months. He listened to her and waved his hand dismissively as she tried to apologized for her action. “It’s ok, Maya. I get it. You’re not the first drunk girl I’ve had to console because of her feelings..technically you’re the third this month.”, he joked trying to make her feel more at ease. “But..you have a point. All these feelings and stuff being thrown around has changed things, for me anyway. Which is why I think we should cool it on the..you know. Is it really fair of us to keep doing it if you heart is somewhere else?”

“i’ve never played spades before!” the truth. “i don’t even know how to. card gets can be super totally hard sometimes, but i like go fish.” her eyebrows raised cautiously at the mention of maya being his friend, whatever that meant. “no, um, i was just curious, because i kinda noticed at zoe’s house, like, hunter was talking to her, kind of. and i’m not mad or anything! i’m just curious about their relationship because i hate being out of the loop. so i just wanted to see if you knew anything.”

“I’ll have to teach you. It’s really easy, I swear. You can even play spades with a partner.” KC said encouragingly. At her questions however, he paused slightly, not sure of how to phrase things. His business with Maya was one thing, but her and Hunter wasn’t his business to tell he felt. But, she was snooping around for a reason he guessed, and it couldn’t hurt to leave a few context clues for her. “Her and Hunter are friends too, but I think you and Hunter are kinda good friends too from the looks of things at game night..”, he explained, before preemptively raising his hands defensively. “Just what it looks like to me..and Maya. We could both see you guys looking pretty comfy.”

She felt really bad for the other night when she had drunk texted him after the party. So, to apologize she had some candy with her that she was going to give him as a small kind of thank you for him coming to get her and everything. Maya bites down on her lower lip as she waits for him to meet her at the place he took her the first day that the two of them actually hung out. Maya also felt horrible for dragging him on this rollercoaster ride of her feelings. But she basically knew now just who she wanted to be with, it was just the matter of making it happen.

When KC received a text to hang out with Maya, he knew this was the perfect time to say what he needed to. He had practiced this in his head over the past few days in his head, not wanting to come off as too blunt or possibly upsetting. But things were different lately, and he couldn’t deal anymore. He noted the place looked familiar, remembering it was where they’d first hung out. “Hey.”, he waved as he approached her. “This place looks kind of familiar.”, he teased slightly.

I would never deny that. He’’s so nice to look at. Not that looks are everything, but it’s possible I could make an exception. I guess I never really thought about it like that but I don’t think anyone at our school is capable of murder. Yeah, they’ll make threats and say they’re going to do something but I can’t see anyone following through and then repeating that process over and over until their name becomes known.

Aaand that’s why they picked him for Bundy. Nobody expected such a good looking guy to be a killer like that. You might be right, most of the school gets mad and have huge egos, but nobody really has the drive to be a murder. That’s a lot of work most are too lazy to go through, me included.

she gave a small giggle to the other, shaking her head. “i started? no way, all creds for that goes to frankie. i don’t initiate card games with more than three numbers in the set.” which was… basically all of them. “can’t say i did much eating or drinking, but that’s on me. i think.” a wrinkle of the nose accompanied her following words, marked by a small smile before saying, “yeah, i saw you talking to that, um, blonde girl. what’s her deal?”

“Still, it was a fun game. I personally like to play spades too, but that’s just me.” He shrugged as he turned his body to face her. As he gathered his cards and stuffed them in his folder, he listened to Lola’s words, easily piecing together who she was talking about. “You mean Maya? Yeah, she’s my friend..”, he stated simply. His relationship with her was a little more than that, but the specific details weren’t that important to define right now. “Why do you ask? Just curious about my lady friends?”

“Wasn’t a party til you got here,” Vanessa grinned, flashing her signature smile. She ignored the pity party aspect, she didn’t want people feeling sorry for her or even thinking that she was weak or anything because of this. “You’re welcome to join me… unless that lighting seems like it needs more attention right now,” her voice lingered. 

“So you just drink alone in the auditorium for kicks? You’re a blast.” KC teased as he walked over and took a seat next to her. He glanced slightly at the bottle, taking it and wondering what was on her mind. He only hoped to be some sort of distraction if she didn’t want to talk just yet. “Sure, lighting can wait. Though the lighting on you looks perfect, I might add.” He grinned as he opened the bottle and took a large sip.

KC: dude i barely remember what happened, but i remember i did try for a minute. but you're welcome. have things gotten better since?

KC: honestly? worse since a dude she's into is acting like a little bitch to me. i didn't sign up for this drama, so i'm gonna have to break it off with her.

“ you’re only a grade above me, ” cam narrowed his eyes, taking the notebook from kc as he finally sat down at table. he stared at the paper, rereading the questions thoroughly. “ this is stupid, ” he muttered under his breath as he used a pencil to scribble down answers. some he fully attempted - others just guesswork. after a couple minutes he tossed the notebook back in kc’s direction, leaning back into his seat.

“You could have fooled me, you have the attitude of a kid who’s mom is making him eat his vegetables.” KC didn’t have time for whatever issues Cam seemed to have with him, and his patience was wearing thin. He watched him with folded arms, sitting on a desk a few feet from him, curious at what he actually knew. He caught the notebook with one hand, looking over his answers thoroughly. His brows furrowed at a few, but he was surprised by others. “Half right, half wrong. But only by a bit with the wrong questions, just missing a step. You know more than you think you do.”

lola hadn’t gotten a chance to talk to kc throughout all the antics of games night, however she had definitely noticed how he was sitting with that blonde girl hunter had briefly invited over to the knights of the uno table - and she wanted to know more. “k.c.!” she exclaimed, hands coming togethre as she crept up on him. “ohmigosh, we didn’t even see each other at games night! how was your evening at the rivas house?”

KC was absentmindedly trying to get some notes down for a friend of his when he heard a small set of footsteps approaching behind him. His ears perked up, turning around and greeting the younger girl with a smile. “Lola.”, he greeted happily as he turned his attention to her. “It was..ok, I guess. I drank and ate a lot, played like one game of Uno I came in second, so it wasn’t all bad.”, he shrugged slightly. “Also that was a uno table you started I heard, so kudos.”

Vanessa had parked herself in the theatre’s backroom once her phone had gotten the alert from The Gazette. Thankfully she knew where Chantay left her spare bottle of Malibu and helped herself into. Vanessa couldn’t believe any of this was going on, all she could do was read and reread the article trying to wrap her head around all of this. She heard the door crack, not even bothering to move from her current position. “If you’re here to tell me it’s against the rules to drink on school property, I don’t care. Get out.”

“Uh, I was here cause they’re doing Hairspray as a musical next month and they asked me to help with lighting. I was just gonna check to see what I had to work with..”, KC tried explained, his head peering up to see Vanessa in some sort of distress. “What’s with the pity party, Brandon?”

Possibly. Although, after watching the movie I’d like to mention that Zac Efron is less attractive and more creepy. I wouldn’t exactly call it an obsession, more like an interest. I might have watched too much of Criminal Minds but I find it interesting to know how their brains work.

And so goes your Zefron phase. And don’t deny you didn’t have one, cause you definitely did. He has become a solid actor at least. I mean it all kinda boils down the the same stuff basically: abused childhood, bullying, need to feel like a powerful person. I mean if that’s all it takes to be a murder, this school’s filled with like 80 percent future zodiac killers.

KC: Talk to him and try to see why he's doing it? Maybe you guys can move past it.

KC: I was just lookout while they did it, then the showed me how to hotwire a car and keep lookout when it's just you the next few times. I got really good, but it's really not that hard to pull off.
