for me that's genuinely a very tough choice, because I have them parental issues (father left the family, mother turned out to be quite the abuser), so I have no idea what it's even like to be loved by your parent(s) lmao.

if we're talking outside of the plot (arcturus/vega/alpheratz are mentally unstable once a month and castor/possibly schedar are into void cult stuff) then I think schedar, because, according to chats, he seems like he really tries to be a good grand father to alpheratz. at least he has some experience in parenting, same with giana, who would be my safest bet, but I don't know much about her....

all of the guide sorcerers need a lot of therapy before even approaching a child, if I'm being fully honest-
