omg i forgot how existential the first 10 minutes of torchwood are with no knowledge. "what did you see" "nothing... oh god there's nothing...." which proceeds to become the theme of season one as well as the entire show.

#like its actually wild. i think some of the concepts and themes in the first season were so so so so so so good #like as much as i clown on day one - “chasing vain pleasures to sustain your life”??? wild in the context of greater humanity #& then u immediately go into ghost machine and its owen commentary??? with its underlying theme about emotion and obsession #and then u get hit with cyberwoman/countrycide/gbg like dont even get me started
