Leader!Matt?  Hooded Leader!Matt? I’ve wanted to see Matt in Archie’s clothes for a while now, so here we are. Quick and simply - using Archie as a reference.

Matt blinked, certainly surprised to hear that coming from Archie - so much so that he flushed visibly, but then laughed again; whether it was a reaction to being embarrassed or that the brunet was delighted by Archie’s words was something that couldn’t be determined.

“Aw, Bro!  Quite making me blush!” Cute? It wasn’t a term the Admin found himself associated with a lot, so while it was nice to hear, it also immediately brought embarrassment as he wasn’t used to it.

“I don’t think I’m a workout maniac bro.”

“Don’t you know I’m just another heartbreaker?”

“I wouldn’t have guessed that bro.”

“Three hundred and thirty-two percent … ? That–bro–what?”

“…What is that thing around your neck? Do…Do you put it on every day? Why?”

“It’s the remains of my swimsuit–oh wait–do you mean the chain? It’s just apart of the status symbol in Team Aqua bro. My bro Archie has his because he has the highest rank–maybe I’m a little higher than Shelly or she then me because she’s so smart. Nothing more than that!”

“I’m so sorry, monsieur! He isn’t usually this– CHEEKY!” He shoots a look at his Blastoise who had just decided to blast some water at the stranger. It hadn’t been a lot and the larger male appeared to be dressed for the water, but still!

“Trips to the ocean always get him terribly excited.”

Remembering the shout of surprise and looking back on it now, Matt laughed and shook his head as he moved to give the Blastoise a bright grin before returning to the owner in question.

“No problem bro!” he exclaimed as he rested his hands on his hips. Today, he was dressed in a new, wonderfully snug wet-suit (the other one had been chucked out due to the horrible condition) and the blast of water honestly hadn’t done him any harm. It had, however, been surprising! “Blastoise was just having a bit of fun, and you can’t be mad at that! Haha! I get excited about the ocean, too!”

Loud. Loud, obnoxious and over the top. His voice and his overwhelming presence were agitating. He’d come to the bar to unwind, but with every word he was finding himself increasingly frustrated. Yet somehow he was getting the impression that he was supposed to be impressed – impressed with the booming voice and extravagant movements. He couldn’t see the man, but Volkner could hear him from the other side of the room, chatting up anyone and everyone, as far as Volkner could tell, who stepped into view. 

Not much in the mood to move, Volkner shrank into his seat as much as possible and ordered a few more shots. He’d need to be drunk to deal with this. Much to his chagrin, the man slid – if anything that large could slide – into the seat next to him. He’d never regretted sitting at the bar so much. Although there was ample space between them, Volkner felt the need to shuffle over. 

Already feeling cornered in, and having already ordered his drinks, Volkner remained seated, quietly praying that the man wouldn’t talk to him.

Matt had slid into one of the open seats at the bar with a wide smile; initially, he had been feeling a bit shy about entering to the point where he had done quite a few other things before actually deciding to head to the bar in question, but when he HAD steeled himself, he had decided to just be as open and friendly as he possibly could which had worked out well. He had, however, declined offers to sit in other groups as it would be hard to decline the drinks that came along with setting with others who were already drinking.

It was safer to drink alone.

Giving the bartender a wide, toothy smile, he greeted them and then ordered his drinks in a more normal tone than when he had been telling stories and sharing embarrassing tales.

Out of the corner of his eye, however, he could see a flash of sunny yellow hair and turned, arching a brow before it dawned on him. The guy was a gym leader - that hair was unmistakable, and his smile widened even more if possible.

“It’s pretty cool to see Gym Leaders like yourself out and about bro,” Matt commented as he waited of his drinks. “At the end of the day, even you guys need time to unwind, eh?”

“Oh without a doubt.  I grew up in Sootopolis so seafood was pretty much all we had as an option, hard to keep cattle in the middle of a flooded volcano.”

The meat they did get imported was far too expensive to be anything other than a special treat, for birthdays and the like.

“Ludo?  They’re her favourites.”  At the sound of her name, the Feraligatr sat up, resting her head on the table.  “I have to keep her away from the stall we buy them from so she doesn’t try to eat it all.”  Matilda laughed, scratching along the water type’s back.

“AH–sorry Ludo. She - definitely she and a beautiful girl at that. She sounds like me - seafood is just something I can’t stay away from bro! I’d love to eat my weight in the stuff.” Of course, too much of a good thing was never a good thing.

However, Matt had never lost his appetite for seafood before. Never. Upon finishing speak, he returned to biting into the shrimp and garlic stick, polishing it off pretty quickly before moving onto the second one.

“This is so good - !”

You narrow your eyes when he practically bellows the response back at you, but you’ll put up with a lot of things when others are paying your way. 

“Very well then. After you.” It’s amazing how much having someone buy things for you can change your attitude. Maxie most likely wouldn’t approve, but what he doesn’t know is hardly likely to kill him. After all, it isn’t like sensitive information is going to be shared!

“This is gonna be great bro!”

Matt grinned brightly, quite happy to hear that and nodded before moving to lead the way like Tabitha had suggested. He had no problems with doing so as he was the one who had offered to take the other out foe lunch anyway.

If only Archie had been paying attention to his surroundings he would have noticed his rather enourmous admin punching the also huge sandbag he was, fortuitously,  passing right next to. If only.

The massive object flew and hit him right in the head after a sharp blow from Matt. He had no idea what hit him.

“GAH! —”

The body of the poor Team leader fell to the floor and remained there as its owner just stared to the ceiling, eyes wide open. Probably sightening some Ekans mulling over his head.

Wait wha–blinking, Matt’s eyes began to widen in shock as the situation immediately became clear. He’d hit someone while punching the sandbag, and due to the shout, it had been rather hard, too.

It was familiar. That shout could only belong to one person though - ! Turning towards the source of the shout, the taller brunet nearly froze at the sight.

“BRO–!” Matt called out, face beginning to turn pale as he hurried over to the brunet and knelt next to him, brows furrowed with worry. He reached out , retreated his hand and bit his lip, before reaching out again to rest one hand on Archie’s shoulder. “Are you alright? Can you hear me? Does anything hurt? Do you want to try sitting up? I’m so sorry bro - I didn’t–I didn’t even realize  you were walking past.”

Blue eyes were already flooding with guilt and regret over his actions which just so happened to harm Archie.

While at first he’d been the slightest bit skeptical, Adonis couldn’t help but allow a smile to grace his features as the back of his hand was kissed. The lightest of flushes crossed his pale cheeks, and the former scientist gently squeezed his friend’s hand.

“That was so cute!” He exclaimed. “You get more adorable with each passing day, Matt!”

Adonis was … really cute.

Matt really did turn red this time at the sight of Adonis’s face in combination with his words; averting his eyes, the Team Aqua Admin rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand, he struggled to form a reply.

“I - … I guess so bro.”
