Celina Pompeani's For Kid's Sake Interview, December 2005 (transcript under cut).
CP: I got a chance to sit down with Sidney Crosby and ask him lots of questions.CP: How long have you been playing hockey? What age did you start?
SC: I think 3-years-old, I started skating. Everyone kind of pretty much starts pretty young. It's a popular game, so I was about 3-years-old.
CP: His dad was also a hockey player. He was a goalie with Montreal. He never made it to the big leagues, but he passed his genes and his passion for hockey to his young son.
SC: I had to work towards getting here and I don't think there's ever a certain age that I realized I'm gonna play in the NHL. But I knew that, you know, if I worked hard I might have a better opportunity than other people and I was going to try to get there. So many kids grow up skating, and I just started early and I fell in love with the game.
CP: And it showed. Look at these pictures of Sid as a kid. He always played against older kids and he always was better than them because he practiced all the time, even in his basement.
[Footage of a younger Sidney: When we moved in, we thought this would be a great idea for a hockey rink, so ever since then I've been shooting down here. They all don't seem to hit the net like that though. As you can see this dryer has taken a beating over the last few years. Luckily my parents don't mind.]
CP: He also had to move away from home when he was 14. He played in Minnesota and Quebec. He also had to learn a new language.

SC: I picked it up pretty fast and I really put in an effort to learn it. Now that those two years have gone by, I feel fortunate to have it. I feel pretty comfortable using it now.
CP: And how do you like living with Mario Lemieux?
SC: It's been great for me. He's played 20 years in the NHL and he's a guy that I can learn from. He's been through a lot. A lot of similar situations that I've been through, so I think it's good to have him kind of showing me along and I've learned a lot from him so far.
CP: Like Mario, Sidney has a flair for the dramatic. Earlier this year with his dad in the stands and the Canadiens on the ice, Sid stole the show in a game that was tied after overtime. He played a shootout and Crosby was king.CP: Sid also told me he likes Chinese food, just like me. He likes country music, mostly Tim McGraw. He also says the Steelers have become his favorite football time. Hanging out with Sid, this is Celina Pompeani for Kid's Sake.
samisa but it's misa waking up with a startle in the middle of the night, shaking sam awake to ask 'did i really tell will that grape juice is better than apple juice ?' to which sam just mumble something along the line of 'yes you did' and misa going 'oh' before he falls back asleep.
and it has happened so many times by now that when they wake up in the morning and misa is all frustrated because there is something he KNOWS he should be remembering, he just can't quite figure out what, sam just goes 'grape juice, will'. because he is tired, he wants to get back to sleep and its gonna be a long day if misa doesn't remember the thing.
but thanks to sam, misa can right his wrong, coming to will in the middle of a drill to say 'i was wrong. apple juice is way better' before he skates away, leaving will confused and sam very tired.
