Now for everyone else: Venezuelans aren't stupid. I'm not stupid. We know the United States (and more importantly, its administration) isn't "helping" out of the goodness of their heart. I don't need anybody telling me. It's patronizing, stop infantilizing us.

Nobody gets to tell us how to feel about what's transpired today. Let us grieve, let us worry, let us hope and let us celebrate in peace. Let us process and let us voice ourselves, even if you don't personally agree with what or how it's being said. I want everyone to respect our voices and our feelings in these turbulent times. Venezuelans deserve that much.

This will be my first and only time making a political post about my country of origin. This is my blog and I decided from the start that it'd be a space for my art first and foremost, and I'll keep it that way. Any attempt to discuss this further with me will be ignored.
