So making progress finally
Because of the plan I'll probably keep most of it under wraps but
And it's not a case of unreliable narrator either the people fully believe everything is going on is real
That said I absolutely hate plotting and would not be trying to attempt anything close if I didn't have a time limit I even tried using guides for plot structure and my best friend says I shouldn't be allowed to write romance because I don't understand the point of feeling empathy for the characters at the beginning of the story (seems a waste to me)
So instead because I tried staring at my laptop for 40 mins without typing anything to start i couldn't figure out any big events or inciting incidents or anything so I gave up doing it that way
So I started on my spiral notebook and now I have 6 pages written and the set up for chapter 2 figured out
Writing is weird
Well the good news is that working on my story and actually having a set number of chapters is helping I plan that have at least 25 there's about a halfway point in mind at chapter 12 it's good stuff
However sticking to a schedule is gonna kill me working on it in the morning is good but I planned to get the first chapter done today which did not happen I got maybe half a page done and then thought hey there's not much comedy and at the end of the chapter my comic relief character is going to juvie crap might need him so he's coming back later and I start writing when he comes back because it was in my brain 3 and a half pages later I still haven't touched chapter 1 but I'm feeling great about chapter 10

i just saw a post on reddit titled "the writer is cooking but the food doesn't agree with me" and it was about OP clicking off a fic because they don't like the direction it's going in. slightly different context but can we all be more like this reddit OP. i think "the writer is cooking but the food doesn't agree with me" should be the new "don't like don't read." dead doves may give you diarrhea but don't make that everyone else's problem.
this is a great way to frame it lol like just bc i'm lactose intolerant doesn't mean i should leave a bad review on the ice cream parlor
do me a favor and stop doomscrolling. go write. or think about writing.
Still reading n thinking about love. Currently compiling a lot of different texts, aiming to maybe write something on love-acts, texts on love & de-centring romantic love in the context of a love multiplicity. Or maybe I’ll just keep thinking about it forever and never write any of it down out of fear that it’s stupid because that sounds more like me

How to Write Places You've Never Been
As writers we need to create authentic Vivid settings that immerse our readers that feel lived in and alive. Weather your descriptions travel across time or countries, here are my best tips for Writing Places You've Never Been!
Start with the mood you want your setting to create. What does it feel like? What emotions should the reader have here? Is it peaceful? Chaotic? Oppressive?
Research, Research, Research! Research is your best friend but you don't want to info dump on your readers so focus on how locals describe the place, common sounds, smells, or routines. Also, Cultural norms and everyday life and architecture, colors, and natural landscapes.
The internet can be your best research tool. Watch Youtube street-walk though videos, explore Reddit threads (What do the people who live there have to say?), watch travel blogs, instagram street photography, Tik tok vlogs, and even Google Earth street walk-thoughs.
Understand transportation, daily life, and social norms.
Get the perspective for the locals. Ask people who live there to review key details
Borrow from multiple sources.
Let characters interact with the setting. Show setting though the characters actions, behaviors, and reactions.
Focus on daily life, not landmarks. Write about grocery stores, weather shifts, or subway commutes. Make the world feel lived-in not postcard-perfect.
Don't overload every scene with sensory details. Focus on what matters.
Pick two sensory anchors to define the place (like heat + street music, or cold wind + ocean smell)
Listen to music from that place. Music can give deeper insights into how locals live, and how they feel about the place.
Read books in the same setting.
Keep track of all your research. Find Notion Writers Research Hub @pantserspen on Etsy!
JUST WRITE. "You don't have to walk a street to write it— you just have to feel what your character feels while standing there."

Concept: story based on the showgirl concept using visuals from latest album, style I can do it with a broken heart/bejeweled inspiration valley of the dolls, Cabaret, Chicago(?) etc
i got my deluxe cds and i have some notes for you or anyone who might be interested!
everything in the deluxe cd “package” comes packed in a box which matches the album artwork, which is a nice touch. each cd’s box includes the sparkly jewelry box with the keychain/jewelry inside, an envelope with three pictures, and the cd itself.
the merch is surprisingly good quality. the rhinestones will probably fall off the eye keychain eventually but it’s not grossly cheap or anything. my favorite is the envelope necklace, it’s so so cute that i actually wish i’d gotten two so i could have one to wear and one to keep safe. the sparkly boxes are really cute too.
the pictures are fine, some are nice some aren’t and the lyrics she chose for them aren’t the best. it they’re only on one side at least. there are a couple more photos from the bathtub shoot and they’re just as bad as the standard cover, she really should have scrapped the whole bathtub part of the shoot. the pictures are pretty small but they’re printed on nice, shiny thick paper.
for each cd, when you lift off the cd itself there’s a poem on the back jewel case insert, these are probably the same ones from the vinyls? either way they’re not bad.
the lyric booklets are exactly the same for each cd except for the unique album artwork on the cover. these were a disappointment tbh. there are four songs crammed onto each two page spread with one tiny photo to make it not completely boring i guess. it’s such a thin tiny booklet. remember when they used to be beautiful? one song and one photo for each page, with a beautiful layout with room to breathe! those days are gone. i guess maybe that’s why she included photos separately but i would have preferred a more beautiful and well designed lyric booklet.
overall i’m pretty happy with these, the price wasn’t too bad for what you get. i do wish i’d liked the album more because i only like maybe two songs but them’s the breaks i guess. i wish i could say this will teach me to buy music i haven’t listened to yet but it probably won’t.
I'm happy to hear everything is decent quality; her merch is always a gamble. and it does sound like she put a lot of effort into the packaging.
