The girl was holding his forearm as he stared into the void of a busy street underneath.
A lady with a gorgeous white Borzoi stood next to a car, trying to reason with the dog to get inside. After several seconds of talking, she tried to push the dog towards the door. To finally give up and sit on the sidewalk, where the proud winner of the small fight decided to just lay on her lap instead. Objectively a bit cute.
As he focused on analysing how he’d have to fall in order not to hit either of them, he sort of stiffened. Subconsciously, he was aware that wriggling around would not be helpful in that situation, and since he literally slipped on ice, out of all things, every step could now kill: two ladies, a dog, and a cat. Combo x4.
The lethality would place him as the #1 killer in Paris, thanks to Ladybug reversing casualties. Which she would probably not perform well while dead, he suspected.
She tugged his shoulder back, making him fall on his ass.
“Better than face down, such beauty needs to be preserved,” he decided.
“Would be a shame, yeah,” she smiled at him flirtatiously. “So be more careful next time, Kitty.”
As much as Felix did not want to admit it, the mere sight of the dark haired girl made his heart drop for the next few weeks. That fall she did not manage to prevent yet, maybe for the better.
School became a sort of his personal hell. He did not have a crush on Marinette Dupain-Cheng; that one was past him ever since he switched his surname to Fathom and erased her memory.
God bless she quit crushing on him though, the risk of anyone finding out his secret was now lower than ever.
Unlike his heart condition, that one kept speeding up every time he saw her. His appointment with a doctor was scheduled the very next week, just in case. Felix became worried whether he isn't at risk of a heart failure.
