Their luck had run out, but how do you may ask?
Their journey had seemed normal, easy even compared to how it had been before. Chris was ecstatic to see land and all its wonders after possible weeks, enraptured by the creatures he had so missed, and thanks to those animals, the team established that they were in India. Koki and Jimmy were keeping an eye around them, collecting food while hoping to stumble upon the last Kratt . As for Aviva, she had carried Chris for the journey, listening to his eager rants and keeping an eye out for even a sign of their missing friend. As the day turned to two, to three, to five, to seven, and so on, did they grow more worried.
Not a sign of the blond, though what could they expect? India was a large aria to find one person, and the crew werenât even sure if Martin was in india. Yet they continued to search, hoping, no, wishing to find even a hint of the man. A hint that told them he was alive and well.
It was a day like any other, they had been searching for their friend. Only for it to seem like their luck had completely run dry.
Aviva and Chris were walking as they had for several over a week now, Koki and Jimmy up ahead. Chris had rambled on about a sloth bear they had passed not too long ago. Aviva was lost in her head and wandering without any attention to her surroundings.
She didnât see the bear trap.
Her foot stomped right into it.
It snapped shut on her leg.
The next moments happened so fast. Jimmy and Koki raced back to the two, Chris had been flung off Avivaâs back and into some bushes nearby. Before anyone could check on him, darts were shot into the trioâs neck, and the world faded to black for the three.
For Chris it was a different sight, his friends had been darted and knocked out by what seemed to be poachers, and taken away. They hadnât noticed him which was both a good thing and bad thing.
Good because he could try and get help, but bad because he was basically a fish out of water. How could he help like this?
He began to panic. Wondering just what to do and begging for some help, somehow. His thoughts were interrupted by the ground vibrating.
His breathing quickened, his eyes watered, he shrunk in on himself. Was it his own thoughts, or were they influenced by the creature power suit? Maybe it was his small size? Or maybe even a mix of it all? He didnât care to think about that right now. He just wanted his brother, no matter how childish it sounded. He needed Martin.
âMartin!â He screamed in desperation, calling for his brother.
The vibrations of footsteps halted, whatever it was probably searching for him. But he didnât care.
Not for the pain his body felt from being flung.
Not for his weakening vision due to the tears building up.
Not for the predator that could be near by.
Not for the possibility for the hunters to return.
He just wanted Martin. He needed help.
âMartin!â He screamed bloody murder, which seemed to echo louder than he should feasibly be able to produce. Yet he still couldnât care.
He could hear a quiet step as something approached him, off in the distance he heard a thump and something rapidly running to him.
âMartin!â Like a broken record player, his voice boomed as though it had come from a concert speaker, no something even louder.
Something from behind him pounced at his hiding spot, only for another creature to attack it. He turned to the two creatures, which he struggled to see with his watery vision.
One turned out to be a leopard, and adolescent male leopard looking for a meal. The other he couldnât tell, it seemed to be a tiger, only its back was covered in scales, and it had wings, thatâs not even mentioning its blue colour. Chris knew a lot about animals, and he knew no furry animal was blue.
The two fought viciously, was it a fight for territory, or were they fighting for the prey? Chris begged it to not be the latter . He didnât want to be food, but with his fins that were not built for land, he knew he couldnât get away quick enough.
It didnât take long for the fight to end, the blue tiger won. The leopard had backed down. The creature turned to his hiding spot, huffing with a tired pant from the fight. Its fur was roughed up and its body scratched up, but thatâs not what drew Chris in with such familiarity. Chris was drawn in by those blue eyes, the ones he knew too well. The ones he had so desperately called for.
âChris?â The creat- no his brother panted, stalking closer. âYou there?â
âMartin!â He cheered, doing his best to escape the bushes and jump towards his saviour. âI am so glad to see you!â
âMe too bro, I see I wasnât the only malfunction.â Martin crouched down to better see his green brother.
âYep everyone is trapped by a malfunction.â Chris responds, edging closer to Martin and out of the bush.
âThe others are here too? Where?â He looked around. âAnd how have I not found any of you until now?â
âWell, the others were actually in America, I was in the ocean, when I found them, they knew you were here through a creature pod, I swam them over.â He absentmindedly explained before he recalled what happened to the others. âWait! The others, we need to save them!â
âCalm down dude, you need to explain what happened.â He tried to calm his panicking brother. âWhat happened to the others?â
It came out as quick as thunder, he rushed through the occurrence and how they were possibly in danger.
Martin quickly scooped Chris up and dashed in the direction Chris said they went, worried for his friends safety.
They dashed back into the shrubbery, to save the others.
