As-salÄm âalaykum wa raáž„matuâllÄh wa barakÄtuhu dear friends, teachers, and family:
With the last nights of RamaážÄn now upon us, we have entered into the last stretch in a marathon of supplications, meditation, contemplation, and solitude with AllÄh ï·».
I want to share this gift with you: a gift for those moments of intimacy when you are âalone with the Aloneâ. It is in fact two prayers taught to me by my teacher, which have reached us from Shaykh Aáž„mad al-TijÄnÄ«, by way of his dear disciple, Shaykh IbrÄhÄ«m RiyÄងī al-TĆ«nisÄ«, may AllÄh ï·» bless and be pleased with them.
It is a prayer for all needs (istishÄra), a means of completely confiding ourselves in AllÄh ï·» and His Messenger ï·ș.
AllÄh ï·» knows the struggles and needs that each one of us faces, whether we are seeking worldly or spiritual provision and well-being. He understands our needs and frustrations, our shortcomings, weaknesses, emotions and desires.
Only AllÄh ï·» saves us from ourselves. If He can save us from Hellfire, He can save us from any fire less than that, as well. I think Rumi once said, âWe have been bombarded from all six directions⊠so that we may take refuge in the Directionless.â
Please see the PDF attachment for the prayer, which you may freely share with anyone dear to you who will benefit.
Additionally, please listen to this recitation of the Salutation of the Opener (áčąalÄt al-fÄtiáž„) by our grand-shaykh, the late ImÄm កassan CissĂ©, on YouTube. You can read about the prayer in the video details.
Please do remember me and my family in your prayers.
