Anon, that interview with Yuki Kaji is perpetuated by Erwin/Levi shippers everywhere. He was paraphrasing what Isayama said about Levi being “a balloon dangling in the air” and ended up saying something that sounded a bit like “widowed.” It freaked out the shippers and they use it as “proof” of Eru*i.

But it doesn’t mean anything really. Isayama clearly meant nothing like that, and Kaji just didn't repeat it in a super clear way. Plus…nothing the VAs say should be taken as canon. They are just like us. They have their opinions and preferences, but it doesn’t actually say anything about the canon. Yams always has the last word. This take is nothing to worry about 👍

Also Isayama never said "Levi is like a baloon dangling in the air" 😂

He said "it's still up in the air" (what Levi will do after RtS)..

Someone just translated it Literally. Just like i would translate Levi's "You can't stay out of the action" as "You can't stay outside of the mosquto net". Hahaha

They love that little phrase….because it makes it sound like Levi has no purpose anymore lol. I wonder how mistranslated Yuki Kaji’s words were too, honestly. I feel like he probably said something about Levi struggling to find new guidance after Erwin’s death and of course shippers hear “he’s widowed.”

Anyway, of course it still doesn’t matter what the VAs say. I only wish shippers wouldn’t abuse their words for the sake of “evidence.” :|

How can they when they really have no other way to prove eroori wasn't purely platonic and all the Actual canon evidence shows the Opposite of what they think.

They really loved Araki's line of "You should pay close attention to Erbin and Lebi's interactions in S3" taken out of context, because it seems like there will be evidence for romance but the truth is he was talking about Friendship and Eroori's parallels to Eremin... 😅

Same how the "Levi doesn't let anyone get at his heart except Erbin" line was floating around when the actual translation was "Levi, who doesn't trust anybody let Erwin get close to him and became a member of the SC".. 😅

And there are plenty of such examples of biased "translations".

Also note how the wording is "someone irreplaceable to him IN Erbin", not simply "someone irreplaceable to him." This implies that Erbin himself was not irreplaceable, but rather something he Had as a person that Levi found irreplaceable.

Thank you! I appreciate you sharing the accurate translations, haha. I have no clue where to find them most of the time, so I can’t always point my anons in the right direction. Every time I see stuff like this, I start to realize how much of the Eru*ri ship is reliant on extremely dubious translations, haha.

I’m also totally not gloating over the fact that Levihan has barely been discussed in the interviews like this, but still dominates in the general canon 😂

Nothing in that interview even suggests romantic implications between Erbin and Levi so idk why ppl use it as "proof". 🤷‍♀️

A group of the fandom has already begun to say if we call Hange a woman and Levihan a straight ship we're homophobic and transphobic, taking away the free will of interpretation Isayama gave to Hange and forcing you to think like them or wait for the attack and the consequences that it might bring. (Yeah it's a threat)

They're always creating unnecessary wars in the fandom that could be avoided if they just respect each other's opinion.
