So I drew a background for the first time in about a year. It didn't turn out as planned because I realized mid-way through that I didn't own a blue marker for the sky that wasn't either too bright or clashed with Fubuki's hair color. So I decided to make it a sunset. However the color was way darker than I remembered and now it looks kinda weird lol.

My first full painting done at my new desk! It's Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, in an outfit she wore in the second episode of the new anime. I wanted to be creative with the coloring to make it more fun, so I did yellows for the areas getting hit with the most sunlight and blue for the shadows! I did little splashes of pink here and there for fun. I don't know if the placement of the lights and shadows make sense, and some areas are embarrassingly muddy due to all the different colors I used (don't look at her ear! xD), but in general, I think she looks pretty nice. :) This was done with Marie's Watercolors on Canson watercolor paper.

i ADORE when beginner artists or people who think that everyone thinks their art is bad draw my characters btw. there's so much love in people's creations and that goes for beginner/"""bad""" artists too. it's so fun seeing someone whos art might not be as 'good' as everyone else's (trust me your art is still good and it's so sosososo fun to see) draws a character.
