The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah has forgiven my Ummah for what crosses their minds, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.”

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“Everything that a person enjoys in this world, if he goes to extremes in that, even if it is halaal, his share of it will be reduced on the Day of Resurrection.”

🌱 Example in daily life
• ‘Foodie’ culture, over indulgence.
• ‘Shopaholics’, continuous and extensive purchases
• ‘Binge watching’ Netflix / ‘doom scrolling’ screen time.
When a child passes away, Allah asks the angels:
“Have you taken the soul of the child of My servant?”
‘Yes’ the angels reply
“Have you taken the fruit of his heart?”
‘Yes’ the angels reply
“What did My servant say?”
‘He praised You, and said:
‘Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn’
“(Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we return).”
“Build for My servant a house in Paradise and call it Bayt al-Ḥamd (the House of Praise).”
This hadith is found in Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi and Musnad Ahmad.
The Prophet ﷺ himself described them as:
“The children (who died young) are in Paradise, running around like small birds until Allah restores them to their parents.”
(Muslim, Ahmad)
Spend on your wife!
Shaikh Ibn ‘Uthaimeen:
From the people there’s he who restricts his wife and doesn’t fulfill her rights. He doesn’t spend upon her. If he does give her, he shorts her.
At times he gives her in a state of disgruntlement.
If she says: Give me 10 Riyal so that I may purchase something I’m in need of…
He says: In Sha Allaah, at ‘Asr…
Then when ‘Asr comes he says: Tomorrow.
Like this he continues to put her off. This isn’t permissible and is haraam for him.
If the wife’s in this state, then if she’s able, she may take from his wealth without his knowledge (just enough to fulfill her need)…

Imām Nawawī said: "The reason for the superiority of the mother (over the father) is due to her becoming tired in your account, her compassion, her serving you, suffering hardship while being pregnant with you, then giving birth to you, then suckling you, then bringing you up, serving you, nursing you and other things."

Abū Sulaymān (رحمه الله):
مَن وَثِقَ بِاللَّهِ فِي رِزْقِهِ زَادَ فِي حُسْنِ خُلُقِهِ، وَأَعْقَبَهُ الْحِلْمُ، وَسَخَتْ نَفْسُهُ فِي نَفَقَتِهِ، وَقَلَّتْ وَسَاوِسُهُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ
“Whoever trusts in Allah regarding his provision, his good character increases; forbearance follows him, his soul becomes generous in spending, and his doubts during prayer decrease.”

Abū Sa‘īd al-Khazzāz (رحمه الله):
الاِشْتِغَالُ بِوَقْتٍ مَاضٍ تَضْيِيعُ وَقْتٍ ثَانٍ
“Being preoccupied with past time is wasting another time.”
Az-Zuhd al-Kabīr by al-Bayhaqī, 196
Ḥasan al-Baṣrī said:
إنَّ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ، أن تَسمَعَ بِالفِقةِ فَتْحَدَّثَ بِهِ
“Indeed from the charity is that you hear something of Fiqh (understanding of religion), then narrate it to others."

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله
Four things ruin the body:
Worry, grief, hunger and sleeplessness.
And four things bring joy:
Looking at greenery, running water, a beloved person and fruits.

Taqwa is, When you miss salah, you feel uneasy. When you speak a lie, you feel bad. The shame and regret that follows a sin you committed.
When you cannot sleep the whole night after disrespecting your parents. Do everything for the sake of Allah (SWT)
Humbleness is in character. Struggle to better ourselves.
