You want to know why the majority of videogames have White/Asian characters? Because the majority of game developers are White/Asian. Are you accusing them of not being Black/Native American/Hispanic/Etc? Guilty as charged. If you are black, and want to see more black characters in video games, MAKE VIDEO GAMES!!! Don’t try to force people to make your characters, make them yourself!

And this is ignoring the games with non-human characters, such as robots, anthropomorphic people, and flat out animals, demons, etc. 

And that is ignoring games which have non-white, non-asian main character choices, like Papa Y Yo, To The Moon, Left 4 Dead, Mercenary Kings, every Street Fighter game, Barrett from Final Fantasy 7, Brad Evans in Wild Arms 2, Grand Theft Auto, fucking CARMEN SANDIEGO! And tons more games with non-white playable characters. Although I personally don’t know why color is an issue, just play the damn game!

But if you NEED non-white, non-asian characters in video games, then MAKES GAMES WITH THEM IN IT!

I can’t take this hashtag slacktivism seriously. Why? It’s quite literally illogical and lazy as a movement and hashtag. The original creators of the hashtag were attempting to make a conversation about white protagonists in gaming while not creating women and colored characters. 

For example, the Fallout 4 trailer released, and many were upset about the depiction of the protagonist as a white male. Funny enough, Fallout is a game based off of Character Customization. If you wanted to play as a black woman, then make the character. If you wanted to be a weak nerd looking asian then be that, that’s the beauty of the system! Other games that include this system is Skyrim, GTAV Online, Most sports games, Wasteland, Dragon Age, SIMS, Aura Kingdom, Saints Row, ect. If you wanted customization then you have it.

Let’s say you’re right. The existence of this white male is the kind of person they want. Then most companies would go bankrupt. Coca-cola, for example, isn’t trying to get polar bears to drink their product. The purpose of an advertisement like a trailer is to show the capabilities and the possibilities of the product. In case you haven’t noticed, the character in the Fallout trailer was the same design as every other fallout game. Maybe, ya know, they’re trying a pattern of making the same default.

But none of those are really why I can’t take it seriously. And lets even say I’m wrong. Then stop complaining. Seriously. Make your own game, with it’s own characters and trailers and whatnot. There’s nothing stopping you from going and learning how to make a game. In fact, download a game called ALICE. It teaches you this stuff. Theres nothing stopping you except your bullshit.

What is Gamergate? Let's define it once again, it's not an organization is it? It's a revolt /online movement with no leaders. If tomorrow Milo goes cuckoo and shits in public does that reflect on Gamergate? If Sargon drives a bus into an orphanage tomorrow will that reflect on Gamergate?
