TheWrap reports that Bill Hader is set to star in Empress of Serenity, an indie dramedy inspired by David Foster Wallace’s A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again that will mark the directorial debut of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl’s Jesse Andrews.

The story follows a man who embarks on a cruise to bond with his father, who helps his son deal with intimacy issues; the original one chronicles the author’s experience aboard a luxury cruise ship for one week in mid-March of 1995.
