Making Time
Life was good. Anthony had finally gotten his grades to a place where he felt comfortable and confident, he had a routine for studying and homework with time worked in for all of his Kappa and basketball responsibilities. Heâd even worked in time in his schedule to continue helping Nia with her math homework. There was a balance in his life that heâd never had before and he found that he was much less stressed out and a lot more pleasant to be around. The only downside to his new found âbalanceâ was that heâd unintentionally left out planning for spending time with his girlfriend.Â
As he approached the Delta house with a mixed bouquet that the florist swore would make any woman swoon, Anthony found himself nervous. Itâd been about three days since heâd seen Hadley and heâd missed her more than heâd ever admit⌠but as the texting became more infrequent he knew that heâd gotten himself into the doghouse somehow and he was all ready to get himself out of it.
Taking in a deep breath, Anthony looked up at the door for a moment before exhaling and ringing the doorbell. He waited a few moments and then smiled wide as the door swung open and Hadley stood on the other side. âHey babe,â he leaned in to place a kiss on her cheek.Â
When the doorbell rang Hadley had no intention to answer but soon after she heard someone calling her name and saying it was for her. It didnât take long for her to realize they hadnât even bothered to open the door themselves and so this visitor was still a surprise. Even more of one when she did open the door and saw Anthony standing there. Automatically she crossed her arms in front of her chest just in time for him to lean in and kiss her cheek.Â
âIâm busy so itâll have to be quick,â Hadley answered as she turned on her heel and walked back into the foyer, expecting him to follow. Sheâd seen the flowers but she didnât bother to comment on them. Not until a swell of jealously rolled up within her. âI donât know if you recall but Avery moved out,â she found herself snapping before she could bother to think it through. It was a stupid thing to say since she was far past that but she was frustrated.Â
