Your climbing boy is back! After vacation in Croatia I've spent two weeks in Zillertal. It was amazing and very climbing intense. Unfortunately, I've not made a lot of good pictures. Except for these...

This block can be found in Igent, one of many very beautiful boulder places. My skin was quite wrecked that day. But as soon as I started touching the holds I could not stop until I have finished the boulder "Bowling for Columbia 7B".

A lot of photos because I have climbed with my father a 800m route which is a combination of "Richterweg 5+ (var.)" & "Stadelwandgrat 3".

As you can see in the first two pictures the rock is wet, pretty much soaked with water. Later on, already in Stadelwandgrat, the clouds became less and the blue sky was at times visible. The only drawback was the very strong wind.

This precarious weather gave this tour an alpine vibe. I was fighting against various elements of the nature. Thereby I was growing, getting stronger and more experienced.

As not too surprising, I was again in Höllenthal after two weeks in Croatia. With my father I have climbed "Kombinationsweg" im Grossofen. We both had a strong Deja-Vu experience and indeed, we found out afterwards that we have climbed this route just last year! That is why it is important to have a climbing diary so that one recollect all the climbing adventures :)

I felt in love with Hohe Stube! This climbing crag is just a "small" wall, up to 25m high and probably 50m wide, containing a bunch of 6b+ up to 7b. Nevertheless, the quality of rock is outstanding and climbing here is so much fun!

This time I was with two friends so I had the opportunity to film an attempted ascent go in "Sturmkaiser 7a". I have tried a 7b which has a really nasty slabby crux move right beneath the anchor.

Also, the weater was in the beginning quite wet. Fortunately, the wall was surprisingly dry and we even got to see the sun :)

Yesterday I was with my father again in Höllenthal, Austria. Unfortunately we could not find a less popular alpin route so we just wandered around. But I was blessed with these breath-taking views of the valley "Großer Höllenthal".

Chill boulder day @Flakturm, Vienna. The weather was amazing with a nice breeze. I managed to climb this veeery crimpy 7A. Good alternative to hangboarding ;-)

Such a nice day outdoors climbing with a good friend! We went on a little discovery trip to find a little and beautiful crag called "Hohe Stube", hidden in a small valley.

I managed to climb "Sturmkaiser" in three goes, a spicey 7a with Moon Board like moves.

In the clip you can see my go in "Die Hohe Stube", a 6b+ with unreal structures. It was .y very last route and it was really pumpy because of my fatigue. At the end you can hear me scream (translated) "Oh my god, it [the route] continues!". I was really surprised by the length and, most of all, by a really slabby section up there. I felt how my body gave up and I had to rest.

Another route in Höllenthal, Austria. This time I have climbed with my father "John Wayne der Alpen", a very popular route because of its good protection and good quality of stone.

It contains two 6+ (5c+) pitches, which were quite spicy, especially the first one: big insecure moves on really bad footholds and afterwards a precarious traverse on small holds and bad footholds. I read that in another climbing guide book this pitch was graded as 7-/7 (6a+/6b) which makes a big difference... and sense :)

Yesterday I climbed "Gaisbauer Jug Weg", a 200+ meters long multipitch route in Höllenthal.

It was cloudy so the sun has not burnt us alive. The difficulty was moderate so that we could enjoy the adventure and the views without any difficulties :)

Do you like muscle-ups? I heard that they are supposed to be great to train explosivness/power!

I am really amazed that climbing requires so many skills and pull-ups are really just a fraction of them!
