remember when Sunmi posted pictures of a handful of advil pills?

everyone was super concerned for her (as was I) about her health and then there was a handful of people who were calling her an attention seeker or an attention whore.

then she was on her vlive and started crying. this also made fans worry but also the haters calling her even more of an “attention whore” or calling her “pathetic”.

and now that she has released her new song ‘NOIR’, the MV shows the message that she wants to put out. She is using the word ‘noir’ to describe the dark and extreme lengths people are willing to go to in order to gain ‘hearts’ and ‘likes’. just like the heart candies that she consumes throughout the mv, people have become addicts to social media and the attention they get. the more dangerous the situation, the more willing people are going to go there to get ‘likes’. this type of violent behavior is our modern version of ‘noir’.

sunmi did the exact same thing as others did. she posted vague and scary pictures and videos of her that got people talking. she got the attention and people to talk about her. she became her art.

EVERYONE, SUNMI IS AN ARTIST. THE PUREST AND TRUEST FORM.
