Born to the mayor and his wife, Taeyang is the younger twin by one hour from his brother, Hanjae. Despite one hour, the two were born different days with different zodiacs signs and are completely different people.
Taeyang was named after his great-grandfather. They share the same name and Taeyang is expected to take the rightful place as Mayor his great grandfather never got to take.
The boys were raised mostly by babysitters and nannies. They were both busy with their different businesses. Tae was saddened by their absence, but he tries his best to push those feelings to the side since he knows they were providing for them.
Taeyang did well in school and was well liked by his peers. Hanjae was always looking out for him and Taeyang did his best to do the same. He sees through his brother’s crap and is always there for him through it all.
It’s obvious that Tae wears rose-colored glasses when it comes to his parents. He doesn’t see that they aren’t in love and are married out of convenience. He is even in denial about all the women he knows his father is seeing. He knows his mom gave up a lot for them, but now she hardly ever comes home and he tells himself it is because she is busy working. He doesn’t want to face the worst in them. For someone so logical, this is one of his weak points.
During his youth, Tae really took an interest in art, he loves to draw. He had been an avid manga fan growing up and he learned to draw from his designer mother. He began drawing his own comics and manga at the age of ten but quickly realized that they were just pipe dreams since he had a legacy to fulfill. He knew he had to take Hanjae’s place as next in line because Han and his father would kill each other if he didn’t.
Unknowingly to Tae, one of the biggest reasons his parents fought was because his mother wanted to send him to art school, but his father said he had things he needed to do here since Hanjae clearly was not going to step up to the plate.
He does still draw for fun, but it’s a secret he doesn’t share with many others. Most people know him as the youngest Council Man and upcoming Mayor. He does like his job and takes it seriously, but sometimes he wonders what life would be like if he had followed his own passion. Though he doesn’t dare to voice those thoughts out loud.
The closest person to him in his life is his twin. He would do anything for him and does his best to keep his brother in line and not get into any trouble.
Heterosexual orientation. Ever since he was little he found girls to be the best thing to ever be on earth. He is easily smitten, but also sometimes completely blind to when someone likes him.
