Filmed mostly at the Hollywood Palladium theater on Sunset Blvd., the movie was billed as "The Rock and Roller Disco Movie of the Year" when it was released. A box office bomb and eventual camp classic, this was Swayze's first film role, later jokingly referred to as "Dirty Skating" following the massive box office success of his later movie Dirty Dancing in 1987.
