hey so quick question, its been months since last chapter, when are you gonna post the next one?
Usually I wouldn't answer these asks because the FAQ says: it doesn't matter how many months go by, the next chapter will come eventually.
But I was thinking of making a status update regardless so I'll do that now.
Yes, it's been many, many months since the last chapter. In that time, I've updated the introduction and Chapter 1, but I've also made progress in other ways, and I've been planning some other DT-related things. Like planning later parts of the story for example. Plus, I tend to fix minor mistakes in the comic panels, some of which are very tedious to fix. So the fact there aren't frequent public updates doesn't mean I'm not working on DT. I pretty much always am in some way. And I've been basically doing it all myself.
I've said it before, but ever since December 2023, the main writer of the comic and co-owner of the AU, who used to help me a lot, stopped working on DT. Since then I've remade all the chapters, put them on MSPFA, made chapter 9a, and more. The writer actually may or may not come back somewhat soon, but remember that the chapters take a while not just because they're time consuming, but also because I have do to literally everything besides music. And I have other responsibilities besides DT, which is really annoying. If I didn't have anything else to do I'd work on DT more, but I can't. The wait between chapters bothers me as much as it bothers you, or perhaps even more.
The script for Chapter 9b (for the most part) has been done since last year, but to be honest, it's still going to take several more months. My intention obviously isn't for every chapter to be released on an anniversary (either of the AU in August or of the comic in November), but at this point Chapter 9b might release in August, or it might take even longer than that. This chapter is also taking this long because some parts of it need parts of the following chapter (Chapter 10a) to be done too.
About the music, I'm thinking I might post new tracks here too instead of just on the Discord server, but I'll see about that later. We've released 3 new tracks in the last month, if you missed them you can go to the server or go to my Soundcloud, where I repost all the DT songs, and the soundtrack playlist is also there.
