Since Akaashi canonly respects and admires Bokuto, they’re clearly friends (and one of my otps ;3), I believe he would fall for her! SO here what I thought about his fall
Akaashi Keiji x Bubbly Reader, Headcanons, Fluff, Confession
-At first, Akaashi is terrified. Another Bokuto? The female version? He doesn’t know if he can survive; he already feels his protective instinct growing and he knows he won’t be able to leave you alone but…would he be also able to survive yours and Bokuto’s enthusiasm combined? He’s not sure.
-As he thought, he soon becomes used to your presence and unable to leave you alone. You’re often with Bokuto, Bokuto is often with Akaashi and so you three spend a lot of time together. It can be a bit tiring for him from time to time, but he mostly enjoys your bubbly energy. Your happiness makes his world glow.
- Akaashi appreciates your bubbliness, but it’s your kindness that makes his heart melt in the end. He didn’t really expect it at first, because you seemed a boisterous airhead, but then he noticed how dearly you treat Bokuto. Even if you two are often hyperactive and excited about something, you make sure to keep Bokuto under control when needed, to listen when he talks and to boost his confidence when he feels down. Akaashi realizes that behind your loud exterior there’s a caring, attentive friend.
-The fact that you’re also cheeky and capable to exchange witty remarks with him is only a plus. He finds you a funny, interesting challenge.
-When he needs a break from you and Bokuto’s conversation, he uses food to stuff your mouths. He always prepares a bigger lunchbox only for this purpose.
-He also loves your sleeping expression. It makes him feel all mushy inside.
-When he notices that despite your warm personality, you’re not exactly popular (he understands you can be tiring and loud and too hyperactive, he really does, but he would have never thought people could not like you) he starts spending more time with you. He invites you to watch them practice, so you can make friends with the managers. He invites you for lunch break with Bo or walks you home after practice. He tries to fill your void.
-He finds your happy smile the cutest thing ever from a totally objective point of view. It’s evident it’s cute, it’s not him who’s biased.
-You and Bokuto become good at realizing when Akaashi feels stressed or exhausted. In these cases, you a) bring him a lot of food, because you know how much he loves to eat b) you and Bo fake to listen to some new song, sharing the earphones, and quiet down to let him fall asleep and relax a bit.
-It’s Bokuto who notices it first (well, let’s say he’s the first one who addresses the topic directly)
“Akaaaaaaashi, don’t you like S/O?”
And Akaashi’s flabbergasted.
He was so caught up in making sure you were fine and happy, so used at having you around, that he hasn’t noticed he has fallen for you.
“It should be you telling me, Akaashi!”
“I believe you’re right.”
“THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!”
After an entire afternoon of ruminating, he decides that, for once, Bokuto is absolutely right: you two had built a friendship, he likes you more than a friend and he does want to know what you think of him. Now that he’s aware of his own feelings, the idea of waiting or faking to treat you only as a friend pains him.
He decides to confess right after practice, but as soon as you two remain alone (or so you think, the entire team is hidden behind the gym door) he starts to panic.
What if he ruined your friendship? What if you didn’t love him back? What if he liked someone else?
Under your confused stare, he becomes a red, flustered mess.
When you ask him if he is alright, he jolts.
“Uhm, I- I hope this won’t inconvenience you but…” he can’t help but hiding the mouth behind a hand, “I’ve fallen for you. Would you be my girlfriend?”
When you finally say yes, admitting you’ve always liked him too, he nearly dies from relief and shyly pulls you into a hug.
-Bokuto interrupts the moment, literally slamming open the door and hugging the two of you as he screams “CONGRATULATION! I’M SO HAPPY! I WAS WAITING FOR THIS DAY! I TOLD KURO YOU WERE A FATED COUPLE!” He cries a little.
The rest of the team claps their hands and cheers.
Akaashi has to threaten Bokuto he would stop tossing to him to make him let go.
