"Survival"
Cone 5.5 stoneware, underglaze, glaze, nichrome wire
A piece about caring and bonding deeply intertwined with survival, and death as a legacy to the building of love and community.
Some may recognize this piece being on display during the spring of 2025, it was purchased for a surprise and was finally unveiled last month so I'm now sharing it online! :)

“Maybe that's the real punk rock.”
This week is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. I wanted to celebrate with some newly restored photos surrounding the riots themselves. Stonewall was the pivotal moment in the LGBTQ+ community that marked the birth of our modern movement. We wouldn’t be here without it.
Seeing color photos of the Stonewall riots helps us better understand who was there. Intead of the whitewashed narrative we see on TV, the leaders of the rebellion were queer and trans people of color. Black-and-white photography inadvertently hides skin tones, along with the multiracial community behind the riots.
See more moments from our community’s history going back to the 1890s at elierlick.com/color!
