BOOK LAUNCH
As some of you know, Holly has been writing a book. The book is called My Own Dear Brother and it comes out two weeks today (check it out). To celebrate Holly is holding a book-launch-reading-event-music-gig-raffle-buffet-party. She will be doing readings from the book, accompanied by a live soundtrack (specially written for the event) provided by a amalgamation of Hail! The Planes + Winter Villains. Cool.
But before we get too carried away: the event is now *FULLY BOOKED*. I thought I should tell you about it anyway - there are slim pickings re H!TP news atm (but we’re not dead, okay?). We’re hoping to get some footage of the performance, which we’ll stick up on the internet sometime. We’re also hoping to take it out on the road, maybe do some festivals, so keep them peeled.

new solo project from david: THEY IS THEY IS THEY IS
Hello,
I’ve been working on a new solo project called THEY IS THEY IS THEY IS. It’s fuzzy and lo-fi and pop and the songs are about fear and love and I hope you like them.
My debut ep “Stationary Me” comes out TODAY. It’s available on (very) limited edition cassettes (only 25 copies) and costs £3. Cassettes come with a digital download too, because it’s the year 2015 and I’m very modern. You can order from my bandcamp page HERE.
I’ve also gathered together a live band, and will be performing in public in the near future so keep your eyes peeled.

Drum roll, please
We’ve been extremely quiet for a long time now, and this is why:
Rob has decided to take a break from drumming to focus on his career, and plans to move to New Zealand in the near future. This means he’s leaving Hail! The Planes and we’re currently drummer-less. (What is it with bandmates moving to the other side of the world...?!)
Rob and I have been friends since we were 9. We bought our instruments at the same time when we were 16 and began learning punk songs together in Rob’s parents’ garage. We quickly realised the biggest thrills came from writing songs, creating something unusual, our own. We’ve played in bands together ever since, and have always written collaboratively - bouncing ideas off one another, allowing ourselves to get carried away in the music. Rob has had a huge role in making Hail! The Planes what it is, and his intuition and flair will really be missed.
Necessarily, then, the band will transform and develop in new ways. This in itself is exciting and challenging. We have dusted ourselves off and are getting back into songwriting this summer which feels brilliant. Let’s see what’s round the corner :)

WINTER VILLAINS album.2
Today is the day that the new Winter Villains album comes out. It's a total beaut. You can download a digital version from HERE or pre-order a fancy ltd ed blue vinyl HERE.
The album launch will take place at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff next Saturday 16th May 2015. Holly and I will be lending a hand on stage (or lending a violin, bass, voices etc.) and we can't wait. Tickets are HERE. Hope we see some of you there.

GREEN MAN 2014
We're extremely pleased to announce that we're performing at Green Man Festival 2014 in the Brecon Beacons. We're very happy to announce that we are to play this year's A Carefully Planned Festival in October. The festival happens in Manchester and includes many, many, many top quality bands (including a few pals from Cardiff). We are looking forward to it immensely.
