“Do we? I’m almost certain I have no other skills,” though of course he had all the hallmarks of someone with magic. He was utterly untrained in using it so it would be dangerous. “My apologies for that ma’am, I couldn’t tell you why I was appearing your dreams.”

“Knights have to be I think, given how close we are to the king and the other nobles,” Mordred replied, “I suppose I could do that, though it should probably be brief.”

“My past as an orphan,” he replied, “as for my talents surely you mean to seek out a knight like Lancelot or Leon if you need one who has actual talents, mine mostly revolve around riding a horse backwards.” He of course knew that this wasn’t true but most other people didn’t know that and couldn’t know that.

“Thank you, it has definitely been interesting to see how all the knights are together and how they are with me. It is nice that our personalities all mixed together. I can’t believe that he would do your father’s knights. They deserved better than a senseless death,” he spoke, looking at her. He couldn’t think what would happen if his knights were killed like that, he knew he’d never be the same. “Perhaps he may surprise you and find his way to make up for working with your uncle and fight by your side again.” If his backbone was weak, he didn’t know if he would work against the uncle, but only time would tell. “Yes, this is your room, I’ll see you at the feast.”

Evangeline gave a small nod of her head before heading inside the chambers. She slept for a couple hours before getting up to get ready for the feast. She had help into her dress which was a beautiful silk dress which went down to her ankles and flowed elegantly. It was tight around her torso showing off her figure, her hair was put into different braids a few strands falling and framing her face.

She walked in on her own to the feast, as she entered she noticed that eyes went upon her. A smile formed upon seeing Arthur and the knights; familiar faces. “Arthur” she greeted lightly smile remaining.

Arthur knew it was better for him to go through all of his notes on his desk, trying to find out if there anymore information about Evangeline’s plight that he could help her with. He found himself with more questions than answers. He knew tonight was not the night to ask questions. He wanted to have Evangeline feel comfortable and have a night where she could relax.

Smiling when he saw her, he stood, pulling out her chair for her. “Evangeline, I hope you slept well? I know that it was such a long journey you had.” He asked softly.

Evangeline sat down beside Arthur “I did thank you” she responded politely leaning back in the seat. It was the first feast she had in years where she could relax and know that her uncle wasn’t going to try and ridicule her in front of their guests and the court. “It was very comfortable indeed” Merlin passed her a goblet of wine which she took with thanks. “Thanks for doing this too, it means a lot it’s the first feast I have had which I can properly relax and enjoy myself”

“I’m glad, I know things have been hard as of late.” He responded with a nod. He wanted to make sure that she had a good time before they had to go help her fight her uncle. “I want you to enjoy your night, you have been under a lot of stress lately and you should have fun tonight.” There was nothing wrong with enjoying oneself, especially when a person is dealing with a scary situation such as running from one’s uncle.

“Oh I will” Evangeline responded with a bright smile. “Will there be any dancing?” She asked her eyes upon the guests and the knights “I enjoy dancing my father and I used to do it all the time at events” she admitted gently smiling fondly at the memory.

Frustration is clear in his tone as he spins his body towards the other, tension rising in his back as he straightens, standing tall like the regal prince he is. His hands clench slightly, ready to face whatever lies after he finishes his commentary. Blonde hair still laying smoothly across his head as if nothing had stirred it.

Of course she hadn’t expected Uther to announce that she was to marry Arthur. She had given her opinion on the matter that perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad as they both thought. Evangeline watched as he spoke and stood tall she wasn’t intimidated far from it. “No but since we are both effected by it I thought you might want to” the princess responded sharply, blue eyes setting upon his own.

“I am just as frustrated about this as you are Arthur Pendragon and you don’t have to be such an ass about it either” now Evangeline was angry. Silver like hair rest upon her shoulders she was a beautiful young woman innocence about her yet at the same time there was a fire that burned within her eyes. Evangeline stood with confidence like she always did “I would rather be married to you and safe if it meant I didn’t have to go back to my uncle” her tone of voice softened she knew that he didn’t see it the same way that she did.

Semi hiatus during Christmas period with a mix of work and seeing family I’ll be on when I can!
