azurie where they got paired in a marriage booth in elementary-middle school bcs ppl picked on azul (as a former bullied quiet kid in elementary and highschool, this would DEF be an experience that azul would get) or even a casual teasing in class moment where u ship the loser kid and the most popular kid in school... EXCEPT rielle absolutely sees azul's determination and adores him (as implied by his one line in chapter 8, about wanting to prove something to his dad) bcs i think rielle would value hard work over all, so when paired with azul? he doesn't see a loser, he sees someone working very hard to prove something and has always held azul as a model for reaching dreams that are seemingly impossible or silly for your status in life!
then we got azul who def thinks rielle thinks of him as insignificant, without knowing rielle adores him. one-sided crush ftw
ask and ye shall receive! here's my first entry for my twst yuri x-readers series! i'm a bit rusty with fiction writing and x-readers in general (i haven't done it since i was like. 14 i think and im in my mid-20s now), but i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! let me know if i should write more!
It's late night at Ramshackle when you venture out. To no one's surprise, she's standing there like the gargoyles she adores, looking like one of those architectural marvels. Tall, beautiful, with silky long hair that looks like a starless night, and those gorgeous horns. She turns her head as you approach. There's a small smile on her lips as her eyes land on you. Her eyes crinkle at the edges in fondness.
"Child of Man, good evening."
"Hi, Mal," you greet with a smile on your own face, standing next to her. One of your hands is behind your back, and it doesn't escape her sharp gaze. "What's up?"
"Hm? What do you have there?" Malleus asks. Her eyes are soft with curiosity, unlike how she usually presents herself to the rest of the school.
You waste no time in gently taking out the item from behind yourself, presenting it to the fae princess of Briar Valley. You try not to let your nerves show. But it's pretty hard given how pretty and kind she is, underneath all the regality and iciness. Not to mention her entire aura. You cup the item in your hands carefully, careful not to crush it. It's a quaint flower crown, made from purple asters, white oxeye daisies, and carefully picked red roses that have been dethorned. It's a little larger than usual, and it’s intentional, in order to account for her horns.
Malleus blinks, and you try not to blush from noticing her really long lashes that frame her beautiful emerald green eyes. You're shifting on your feet unconsciously, but you don't back down. Unfortunately, your voice comes out shakier than expected. "H-Here... There's a flower field near school that Grim found, and the flowers were all really pretty. And they reminded me of you so... I made this."
She's staring at the flower crown cupped in your hands like a treasure. After a while, a soft yet absolutely blinding smile blooms on her lips, and you can't help but blush. She doesn't raise a hand to cover her lips this time, like she usually does, and she just lets that wonderful smile shine. A low chuckle makes it out of her. The way her voice softens sends a shiver down your spine.
"...This is absolutely wonderful, [Name]," Malleus says softly. "It even has the namesake of Briar Valley. You made this?"
"Y-Yeah! They're really pretty, so I thought I'd make you something. Do you like it?"
"I would preserve this flower crown for as long as I live in this world, [Name]. No doubt about that." She smiles, pleased. She giggles softly, bending down slightly—though she's still really tall for you. "Can you put it on me?"
"...I can't reach the top of your head," you admit shyly. Well, considering that Malleus is one of the tallest girls in school, even if you stretched all the way, your fingers wouldn't even brush her forehead.
A soft green glow surrounds you and in a second, you're floating off the ground. You yelp softly in surprise, but you're stable in the air, as if someone is gently lifting you off the ground. But you know who that soft shade of green magic belongs to, especially with the gentle force behind the magic. Malleus straightens up and you go a bit higher in the air, high enough that you're comfortably arm-level with her horns. She tips her head forward. "Go ahead."
You carefully place the flower crown on her head, making sure to not brush against her horns too much, knowing that she doesn't like people touching them. A minute passes, and she's soon crowned in the quaint flower crown you impulsively made earlier. You're still floating in the air.
She looks absolutely stunning.
Malleus' hands gently brush against the flowers, feeling the leaves, stem, and the flowers themselves. She smiles that ever dazzling smile that makes her eyes crinkle, makes her cheeks flush slightly, and your heart skip a beat. "This is very lovely, Child of Man. I'm very pleased."
"I-I'm glad!" You can't help the smile on your face from her praise. "I'm glad you like it!"
"I will treasure this dearly, [Name]."
"That's great!" You quip, still smiling uncontrollably from joy. You almost kick your feet in joy... before noticing that you are still floating in the air. "...Can you put me down?"
Malleus doesn't say anything as you feel her magic fade away. Although, before you fall to the ground, you feel arms wrap around your legs and waist securely as you're pressed against the fae princess. She looks up at you with that fond, undeniably warm look as she smiles. You feel your heart thrum in your chest wildly, and you hope she doesn't hear your heart crash against your chest like storm waves. You feel your body get warm from the contact and her warm, half-lidded adoring look toward you.
"May I?" She asks. You nod, feeling blood rushing to your head from sheer proximity and everything else happening tonight. She hugs you, her face pressing against your collarbone. You can smell the scent of the flowers you included in her crown. Your hands unconsciously come to rest around her neck tenderly and you lean into her touch. Your hold on her gets the slightest bit tighter. You hope that your actions will be able to convey what you can’t say.
The night breeze blows by, but you can't feel it from the warmth in your chest and the body pressed against yours.
