In 1976, Vladimir Arsentyev designed this beautiful and minimalistic poster for the XIII Olympic Games, to be held in Moscow four years later. Please note how the logo resembles the shape of the Moscow State University main building, designed by Lev Rudnev and completed in 1953.
The original version of this poster, which you can see also at V&A Collection, is with a golden background and red logo, but you can find also other variations (white logo on red background and red logo on white background).
Foire de Saint Ours is an event planned yearly, for over 1000 years, in Aosta, among the Alps of North Italy.
Legendary stories tell that everything began right in front of the church where the saint, who lived before the ninth century, would have been used to distribute to the poor garments and "sabot", typical wooden shoes still presented today at the fair. Each edition is announced by a poster created after an open competition. I have always admired the ability of the artists to chose how to represent the mountain culture through an original - and never dull - symbolism.

In the run-up to the 1972 Games, the Organising Committee decided to commission a series of Artist Posters to "represent the intertwining of sports and art worldwide".
Allen Jones designed one of the most famous of those posters.
