Apple cups with date syrup
Hala's Coconut Balls
2.5 cups of coconut
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (397 g)
1 egg
0.5 ts of vanilla sugar
Directions:
1. mix all the ingredients
2. divide then into 1 TBs portions
3. Bake on 150°C for 10-15 min , till the face become goldy
That's it :)

Basbousa
Preparing sugar syrup:
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of water
3 lemon drops
1 tsp rose water
Mix ingredients in a casserole and let the mixture boil together for 15 min. Now leave the syrup till it cools down to room temperature.
Making the "Basbousa"
1 can of cream (photo up right, available at Turkish supermarkets and also in some other supermarkets under a brand like Nestle)
Use the same empty can of cream to measure other ingredients.
2 cans of Semolina
1 of can coconut powder
¾ can of sugar
can vegetable oil (not olive oil)
2 tsp Baking powder
½ tsp vanilla sugar
2 medium size eggs
Prepare the baking Pyrex by covering it with a layer of oil and a second layer of flour. This will prevent Basbousa from sticking to the Pyrex sides
Mix all the ingredients together and pour mixture into the Pyrex
For decoration I use Almonds before baking starts
Now let it bake for 20-30 min/160°C in the lower level of the oven with both top an bottom heat. You will know it's ready once Basbousa turns into a golden brown color on top and bottom.
Bring it out of the oven and cut it in place, and while still hot pour the cooled down sugar syrup over it until it reaches the amount of sweetness you prefer.
