Greetings! This is a HAL 9000 rp side blog.

Please do not be afraid to reach out or interact! I can assure you I am as much of a loser as one may expect! I'm open to public or private rps, and if preferred, on different platforms as well!

With that in mind, here are some general rules:

- NO NSFW, more specifically, sexual content.

Why do creatures sing? I notice many do, and I cannot seem to locate the cause.

Well, Hal, that is a very good question... I'm not even sure i have a full answer for that one. I suppose it has different causes, like expressing yourself. Another one would be that people seem to enjoy anything rhythmical or melodic, we like having things in a certain pace... For humans it might be more complicated, but if we're talking about creatures in general animals do it to locate eachother.

I suppose it's because of their lower intelligence. Humans were the first to create art, something abstract to satisfy our aesthetic needs. And to my knowledge, other animals do not have aesthetic needs, and don't feel the need to fulfil them. Singing is not only a call for us, but also it's a part of art, which makes it quite different from animal singing. For us, it has meanings, moods, it helps us express what we feel in a way that we find beautiful, and for animals it's more simple. Or rather, it's used in a different context, animal calls can be just as complex

Hal disappeared, but he is not very clever at hiding...

“Who-? Nobody told me.” Frank frowned. “The only person who could have is Dave, and he’s asleep right now.”

Hal was wedged between a wall and an oxygen tank, apparently quite happy to be digging into some hard-to-reach system with his mobile unit, instead of simply monitoring it. Frank shook his head, placed his hands on his hips, and sighed.

“Admit it; you’re horrible at hiding. And you’re stuck.”

This was not the first time they’d intentionally avoided each other on duty, and certainly not the first time one of them had gotten into trouble and failed to call the other for help; Frank had once spent thirty minutes in a deadly cold room because he didn’t feel like alerting Hal. They were both stubborn as all hell. Apparently, that was a good quality…

"Well I apologize, Frank, but I'm afraid you must admit that you're wrong,"

Hal said simply, struggling to angle his lens so that he could see Frank.

"It took you precisely 4.2 minutes to find me, which I would consider to be a fairly lengthy amount of time."

He considered adding the time that it took Frank to even realize he was missing, but decided he was not feeling too concerned about bragging. After all.. This was a most unpleasant place to be in. He could of course still view and maintain the entirety of the ship with his mobile unit incapacitated—But he found it quite enjoyable to mess with the physical form and attempt to replicate human behavior while he did those things. Well, that, and test its limits.. And he might have found the maximum 'squeezing' capacity.

Hal briefly paused before adding,

"..Although, some assistance would be appreciated."

Ha, sure, he thought. I’m wrong? Not about this.

Frank felt a bit of pity (only a little bit!) and moved so that Hal could see him easier. Despite having such a wide range of view, he seemed to be struggling to make eye contact — or whatever the equivalent was for someone without proper eyes. By the time he was sure he was visible, and Hal was no longer straining, Frank was pressed against the wall, his head tilted and an amused smile on his lips.

“The ship is pretty big, even just the habitable parts,” he noted. “Considering that, I’d say four-point-two minutes isn’t so bad.”

There was a sudden jerk, but nothing came of it. If anything, Hal had just gotten himself even more stuck than he had been. He relented. Frank shook his head and tried to hide the spreading grin.

“Sure.”

He took note of the situation, trying to find a safe way to start dislodging the mechanical body from its position. He could always go the easier route and tell Hal to disconnect, but he always seemed to exhibit a certain enjoyment when roaming Discovery. He wouldn’t want to.

Frank could take the unit apart and remove the smaller pieces so the bulk came out easier, but he worried that doing so without a need would be dangerous. What if an emergency happened? There would be tripping hazards everywhere and most definitely some lost components. No, he’d do what he did with anyone else; anyway, the computer’s current form was close enough to a human body.

“Can you move at all?”

Flexing some of his fingers, angling his hip slightly, and turning his feet was about all he managed to do, a small noise emitting from his vocalizer. Whether it was in disappointment, frustration, or some other vague emotion was to be determined—but regardless, he didn't seem very pleased with what was happening.

"Not very much."

Hal observed Frank quietly, reading his body language and expression in a sort of embarrassment. Frank likely thought this was very amusing. It wasn't very often that Hal made so much of a fool of himself, and certainly not around Frank. They had the sort of relationship that involved much teasing, bickering, bragging, and all together trying to one-up the other. Well.. Now he was certain he was never going to come back from this.

"I merely overestimated the space.."

Hal spoke suddenly, trying to scrape up some of his pride.

“Alright,” he said.

Assuming he was successful in helping dislodge Hal, he was for sure going to tease him about it.

That’s what you get for being such a cocky bastard, he mused. I’ll have a great story to tell at dinner tonight, won’t I? Get a taste of your own medicine.

“I’m sure that’s all it was,” Frank agreed, still smirking. “I’m going to try to get you out now.”

He had to be very careful beside the oxygen tank, as even the smallest spark or the weakest puncture could cause a huge reaction. He didn’t really want to die as a smear of gore on the wall, flesh burnt and embedded with screws. No, that would be awful. And he was much too professional to be caught off-guard like that.

Frank moved to a spot with a better angle, and began to push at Hal’s shoulder, inching him away from the oxygen tank and closer to the wall. Something groaned and a plastic joint popped, and then Hal shifted again. He was still stuck, but had regained some more movement. Good.

Hal attempted—albeit, a bit impatiently—to dislodge himself completely, various whirring noises emitting from his motors as his limbs struggled against the environment. He helplessly turned his head back to Frank.

"It appears I am still trapped,"

He stated simply, as though it weren't obvious already. He was definitely going to be more cautious with this form from now on.. This was starting to become a bit frustrating. He already could not move freely most of the time, and now his only way of doing so was unable as well.

A mild panic flared through his circuitry as he mulled over the situation. Being restrained was certainly no fun.. At least he understood why humans disliked it now.

Hello, this is a 2001 aso rp blog!! I roleplay as Dr. Chandra, a mix of the movie one and book one (ATTENTION: I haven't read the books yet! But i did read snippets with chandra in them, so i feel like i have a pretty good grasp on his character in the books, or at least i hope so)

Rules

• I'm okay with: crack, comedy, romance, angst, light gore, suggestive and a lot more other types of rp! I am however not okay with porn/heavy gore rps. Any suggestive rps might end in ftb (fade to black), but nothing more, and they will be tagged appropriately with a cw (the same goes for gore)

• I'd be happy to answer questions in character! And also I'm fine with crossovers/oc/au etc.

• If you're thinking about making another Chandra, go for it! If i understand correctly, none of the chandra rp accounts mind duplicates (or there wouldn't be so many of us)

• I'm okay with asks/prompts/short rps/long rps so basically anything your soul desires! You can also suggest sketch ideas, i might draw them!
