You have me. You have me. The silence is almost as hard to bear as when he shouts ——— the absence of his voice worrying her just as much. She’s wanted to tell him now for ages; the excuses of time and place now seeming silly. But all he seems to want to do is push her away.
Her shoulders soften when he voice does; the pinch of her face melting away.
“Hush.” She reaches for him again, bypassing an attempt to curl her hand around his arm to instead reach up towards his face. “Erich,” she murmurs his name as her thumbs trace damp lines on his cheeks. They can’t go on like this —— that can’t PART like this. This is what she wants ——– he is WHO she wants. “I don’t want you doing this alone. I don’t want you to think you’re alone.” You have me —— you have me. Her thumbs continue the half - moon patterns as she tries her best to summon up some semblance of a SMILE.
“Let me do this with you.”
He has her. He has her. Her brilliance, her radiance. All the light that she offers his dark. Her beauty and her goodness. He has her. He needs her. He wants to need her. Her hand reaches for his face, catching tears that still come.
He feels vulnerable. Like a child and he hasn't felt this way in ten long years. He was always stone and cold and quiet. Afraid that once his lips part people would die. And he is still afraid. He's even more terrified that if he does what he wants to with his lips and hers she'll be hanging, crucified by the gods for her love, soon. He's entranced. Captured by her smile.
" Door I --- " he is alone. He deserves it. He's told the tragedy time and time again and the promise of future tragedies of future calamities sway him. But in all that tragedy he found her. Someone who will stride with him. Her thumb traces on his face and his heart escalates it's rhythm.
He leans in closer, the personal space is dead, as his arms involuntarily wrap around her. Keeping her in an embrace. He's shaking and she can feel it, but she can also feel the beating of his heart. She's giving him warmth despite how cold his tears feel.
" I want --- " he wants her. He wants to be alone. He wants to spend every day with her. He wants to die. He wants her to live. He wants the gods to forgive him so that she can be spared. He's wanting and wanting. And all of it hurts. His heart can only take so many more struggles so many more conflicts. And yet ---
He wants his lips against hers. To have that trembling emotion of love explode into passion. But he's shaking, with fear, pain, love, anger, want. Who knows. But even with Door in his embrace he is shaking.
