Another gift piece, but this time for my grandma!

This one was quite a bit harder to nail down because of trying to align the letters, so when I painted the landscape, it would all be concise and even. Super thrilled with how this turned out, though, and my grandma absolutely loved it when I gave it to her!

Since Mother's Day is coming up soon in the US, I thought it'd be fitting to show something I made for my mum a while back!
My mum loves orange and purple flowers, which is why I chose said colours for the flowers! I love painting environments on 3D letters and might have to pick it up again in the summer.

This was originally a practice piece for my fine art mock exam. I used this opportunity to experiment with different tones and thickness of pens to add depth and texture. Also some helpful perspective practice as it can be something I struggle with!

Created this during a puppet-making workshop for my course. We went through the process step by step, from a wire armature to using milliput to segment the limbs.
Very intriguing process and I’m surprised with how well mine turned out! Their name is Aurora. :)

A lil’ trippy animation loop I made as part of my current exhibition project. Much like the pumpkin loop, I was experimenting with looping and challenging perception.
This was originally going to be a cut-out animation made with paper but unfortunately I did not have the time or resources available to make it a reality. However, I’m still very proud with how this loop turned out and will definitely revisit the cut-out technique sometime in the future!

Astronomy art inspired by the amazing work of Kysa Johnson!

As someone with a big fascination with space and astronomy, it was fated that I’d eventually end up including the theme in my artworks. Both these pieces take inspiration from Kysa Johnson and her methodical use of subatomic decay patterns to create beautiful works of art.
The first image is based of the omega nebula; I love the stunningly bright colours and beautiful patterns the nebulae display, which is what I tried to exaggerate on this image.

Rotation animation exercise!

This was an exercise we were briefed on, which encouraged us to refine our skills in animation and perspective.
We had to create a quick 12fps loop of any object (or thing) rotating 360 degrees. I chose a tree, and, upon reflection, I have mixed feelings about it. Mainly because it can be hard to imply movement with the complex structure of its leaves.
Which is why I ended up colouring it to give it vibrance and also make the rotation more distinguishable.

Ok so hear me out, I know it’s nowhere near Halloween anytime soon but it’s my favourite holiday!
For our most recent assignment at uni we were briefed to create a 3 second loop inspired by our favourite seasonal event/holiday.
My favourite has long since been Halloween for a number of reasons with the spooky vibes and warm tones… anyways I’m getting sidetracked-
I had plenty of fun with this and it was so my first time using TVPaint which I’ve found is a software I really enjoy!
