JJ was lowkey kinda valid for being mad at Shane. Even though his reaction was bad JJ was a really good friend to Shane. He was anything but homophobic towards him and even tried to help him find someone. I feel like if he had told JJ before he would’ve been so upset. Unlike Hayden who constantly shits on Ilya and encourages JJ to find Shane someone new knowing that he’s in a committed relationship with Ilya. JJ was a much better friend then Hayden and had ever right to be upset.
