thank you for the kind words! iām not the most experienced yet, but iāll try to give you a rough idea of how i approach mixing (itās easier to explain in english for me, apologies):
the three most important tools are a compressor, a limiter, and gain/volume adjustment (called āutilityā in ableton live). as you add these, listen to how they change the sound when you turn them on and off to help you understand how you can use them to address problems later. i use the compressor first to balance the vocalās volume and reduce sharp āsā sounds (some software has a de-esser for this purpose), then use the limiter to prevent the volume going above 0db. the gain adjustment is then used to balance the vocal with the instrumental, and make the harmonies quieter than the main vocal (remember to pan your harmonies left and right to create space!). the order your effects should be applied in is compression > reverb/delay/etc. > limiter > gain. use compression and a limiter on each level of your mix (e.g. one for each vocal track, one for the vocal group and one on the master track).
for salvador in particular the export from openutau sounds⦠bad (lol). this is because i use moresampler, which is great for tuning but introduces a lot of noise. using compression and a de-esser is essential to clean up the sound before adding effects.
the biggest tip i have is to export your mix as you work and listen to it through as many things as possible. laptop speakers, phone speakers, earbuds⦠each one will highlight different issues with the mix (i think i made about 10 test exports of ćē±ē°åøøć before i was satisfied). going back and forth and fixing problems bit by bit helps a lot.
to get high sound pressure without distortion, just remember to watch the levels of each track to see if anything goes above 0db. if it does, turn the gain down. mixing is mostly about how the sounds balance with each other, though, not just how loud they are.
the main thing that makes something sound āloudā is contrast. in sections where the vocalist is meant to be shouting, raising the gain a little at that point compared to the rest of the vocal track can be effective, even if the full vocal track is still relatively quiet. you can use track automation for this if your mixing software offers it.
hopefully thatās a little helpful, sorry for not being great at explaining! let me know if you have any specific questions, or would like to see the guides that i used starting out, and iāll see if i can help.
good luck! åæę“ćć¦ćć¾ćļ¼

MioDioDaVinci wrote a huge guide with lots of links to general UTAU information, though thereās not much on mixing as far as I remember.
This channel has very detailed guides about mixing from start to finish. He mentions specific software and plugins, but I think the general process is still helpful.
Hopefully these are a little useful, sorry if youāve seen them before or they donāt help much.

I found Kitsa's wip voicebank floating around in my backups, I truly missed drawing him
returning from a months-long absence to say that i did not, in fact, finish that wip in time for kagepro day. it sucks, but i somehow completely lost steam (mainly because of how stubborn my resamplers were being)
on the other hand, apparently listening to butcher vanity a couple times was enough to convince me that i should bully the boy into singing in english again. the power of a banger i suppose

@epicdogymoment thanks so much for the advice! iāll definitely try messing with the envelopes when i get back to it :)
*holds head in hands* moving the envelopes, changing the flags, going into the configs and regenerating the .llsm files all did barely anything⦠i think openutau may just be cooked, chat

here's the wip i mentioned before, please excuse the lack of mixing
(if anyone knows how to get rid of the popping noises in moresampler please let me know ;-;)
