āStill in the becomingā
We keep evolving through our experiences, like learning not to take an instant sip of hot tea. We learn, we adjust, and we carry that forward. In the same way, we curate ourselves through our failures and successes.
I would be proud if someone said I have changed,if Iām not the same person I was before because we are meant to evolve, to break through our cycles and bring out the best in ourselves.
In my teenage years, I thought I owed people an explanation.
Now, the more Iāve grown, the more Iāve realised that we donāt owe anyone anything. We are entitled to ourselves.
There was a time I was scared of cutting toxic people off because the connection felt safe. It gave me comfort.
Now itās different. Itās easier, its liberating.
Not because they meant nothing, but because Iāve learned where to stop.
And still, parts of them stay.
I remember the way a friend introduced me to her favourite song, and how I started listening to it too.
The way someone recommended their comfort TV show, and it became mine.
Thatās what change feels like to me
you are becoming, but you still carry fragments of who you were and the people you once held close.
Not just people, but habits too.
With time and experience, Iāve moulded myself. Iāve learned and unlearned values, ideas, and perspectives.
One thing Iāve understood is that empathy isnāt just for others itās for yourself too.
I used to be scared of changing.
Now it feels like going back to your favourite pair of jeans you still adore but have outgrown, or a dessert you once loved but canāt have more than a few bites of.
For me, Iāve become more aware of what I want instead of constantly listening to others, something that would have felt impossible to the person I was five years ago.
Iāve also learned that taking accountability for my actions, even when itās uncomfortable, is what makes me human.
And strangely, the more I accept my mistakes, the easier it becomes to give others space for theirs.
I donāt hold onto small mishaps the same way anymore, because I know what it feels like to mess up and still want understanding.
As I continue growing, Iām learning to accept life for what it is , the mess and the bliss.
And somehow, all of it together feels like serendipity. As long as I am metamorphosing and figuring life out I think I am good
