The maati(soil) of Awadh

Awadh exists in the same region as the ancient Kaushal kingdom with Ayodhya as its capital. Which was for some time moved to Shrawasti and later moved to Lucknow. People in Awadh region speak Awadhi.

The word "Awadh" comes from Ayodhya (must have heard the song "holi khele raghubeera awadh me, holi khele raghubeera")

The Awadhi language belongs to the prakrit family of Indic languages. It differs widely from the other languages spoken in Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring Bihar.

For more context, Bhojpuri belongs to the language family in which you'd also find Bengali, Odia, Assamese and Magahi, Maithili and others.

Also, want to make it clear that Awadhi is not a dialect of Hindi. It is a language of its own.

It has a wide variety of artforms that still exist to this day like bhakti geet, bhajans, plays and storytelling, various forms of dance forms, various forms of lok geet and lok sangeet.

Saw a lot of people following the 'Reservation hatao' account. I did some research and found the government statistics, and put them in simple words for better understanding.

If you think reservation is not important, please look at these cases. In order to remove the reservation, you must remove the casteism which is so deep rooted in our society.

And if the caste of the victim is being mentioned in all those crimes, then the caste of the perpetrator should be mentioned too.

Acc to UP police, maximum SC/ST act filed are against Yadavs (OBC) who also get reservations and moslems, in UP.

As a matter of fact, this survey should be done all over India.

To the OP @cateejaaa - Imagine bringing up caste based crimes when talking about reservation as if there's a connection.

To @dazaicoree - They decide to bring up poor people in villages and tribal communities whenever they talk about minority rights. Because they just want to show how they are suffering. But they never bring the millions of sc/st families that live in the city in luxurious homes with lavish lifestyles. Because it doesn't suit their agenda. They don't actually care about their fellow sc/st community. They don't care if they live or die. They just want to keep getting the benefits so they use those poor people to tell you their community still needs rights.

The reform is absolutely necessary. Because those struggling economically, regardless of their caste or religion, are the ones who should benefit from reservation in education and jobs. The poor people in villages will automatically get the benefits because they are mostly of the SC/ST caste but there are also castes that don't fit the caste criteria but are in much need of such rights/benefits.

What I'm struggling with is how rules have made devotion look so superficial. But at the same time I've heard that following rules is a way of discipline. So what is it? I'm so confused

So, you know how when Shravan starts there's like so many rules to follow like you can't cut your hair and nails and you can't oil your hair, and some even prefer not having leafy veggies and ofcourse the non-vegetarian diet rule.

In Maharashtra, they do this thing one day before Shravan begins which is when they have non-veg food. Because then the entire month of Shravana they can't. Is the month of Shravan a punishment for you or what? It's like bachelorette or bachelor party before the wedding day.

Talking about myself I've been following these shravan rules since I can't remember when. Even when my mother would say "you're a kid, you don't have to follow. cut your nails, I don't want complaints every week from school" I would still follow it.

But I've realised that because of this heavy focus on the rules, people's focus is not on the energy/bhakti. It is focused on the rules and finding loopholes. Or is that how adharma distracts you?😓

most of these rules began due to more practical reasons, i assume. maybe the leafy veggies rule began because of the monsoon season? same with the non veg food rule. i get where you are coming from. i live in delhi, and here, ppl abandon non veg during navratri, they say that they are fasting, and will eat special vrat foods during this time period. and right before/after navratri begins, they will just hound over non veg food like crazy. as if its some compulsion. durga puja me non veg nahi khaya to direct svarg ka ticket milgaya.

like i get it. fine. thats your religious belief. but not all of us believe in it? in my culture, we do not have a ritual of ditching non veg during durga puja, in fact we eat it quite frequently (that is, if someone in your house isn't doing a paath of durga saptashati. then you have to follow tons of rules.)

what im trying to say is that ppl are so hell bent on following rules, that they will go and shame the person who doesn't follow it, or doesn't align with what their view of practicing religion is.

as you said, the month of shravan is not a punishment. agar tumko wo rules manne hai to maano, if you don't want, then don't. its not as if its a tiebreaker on whether you will get moksh or not. its better to not follow such rules, than following them half heartedly.

i think following rules shouldn't be a compulsion. and it's not like it teaches anyone on how to practice religion, i've seen ppl who give up non veg in navratri, and can still not name all the forms of navadurga. like kis cheez ka vrat kar rahe ho?

best thing is, just do whatever makes you feel closer to god. no need to do anything to please others. some ppl feel that following rules (or religious babas) is enough to bring them closer to god/is a form of bhakti. thats why they do it. many north indians continue to shame east indians for eating non veg in durga puja. i think that we show more bhakti for that festival and deity than you do, but just because you follow a certain ritual, it helps make you feel morally superior to others.

many ppl follow those rules because it is a part of their bhakti. but these ppl do it because they think thats enough to show how religious they are, even if no one cares abt it.

Okay let me make it clear - it was not about the cultural differences. It was about the rules one has to follow which is not specific to one region but is written in our scriptures.

And to reply to you - Every region thinks their culture is superior. I've heard south Indians brag about their wedding starting at the break of dawn, but in UP our wedding starts at sunset and continues till break of dawn. And the east thinks they're non-veg eating habits make them superior. The north thinks their rajputana blood makes them superior. The maharashtra think their bhakti songs are superior. You eat nonveg or not, neither is going to make you superior to the rest. The point is that it stops being about celebrating the culture and starts being a comparison factor using which you can claim you're superior. Indians across the world have such low esteem that they will hang onto anything that makes them feel superior.

Anyway, i woke up today and magically I have the answer to my question. Up until yesterday night I kept repeating the same thought in my head that why does dharmic rules make you feel so restricted so much that the focus is shifted from worship to following the rules.

But today I realise that the moment I stop worrying about "oh when can I get to cut my nails" my focus is on "now I can completely devote myself to worshipping my deity". Because now all days are the same. You don't have to track when is ekadashi or tuesday so that you can avoid cutting nails on that day. Now you can't regardless of the tithi and the vaar. So it becomes easy for you to focus on doing pujan/bhajan. It actually makes it simpler than making it difficult. I am such a rule-follower that I like the restrictions more.

Also from the spiritual sense, personal hygiene could be counted as संसारिक माया. But again what is the world without maya. There's no shiv without shakti. No Mahadev without Mahamaya.

Long before this so-called CJP protest, I had written several posts about the NEET paper leak and strongly demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Not just him—I also called for the resignation of Nitin Gadkari over the conflict of interest surrounding the E20 issue. In my view, both ministers should step down.

But you cannot take the law into your own hands. You cannot assault the police, damage public property in the name of a student protest, and then play the victim.

You cannot use a student protest as a platform to defame Sanatana Dharma. You cannot allow anti-India, anti-Hindu, and anti-national elements to take the stage and spread their agenda under the guise of a student movement.

How can I call this a student protest?

In my opinion, this is purely an anti-India and anti-Hindu protest aimed at defaming India, Indian government and Sanatana.

Its sole objective appears to be to destabilize the country.

How can such people be called patriots?Such individuals should face legal action under the laws applicable to offences against the nation.
