The MakoHaru anthology is now available online at both Toranoana and Alicebooks!
For customers located outside of Japan, AliceBooks will be more convenient to purchase from as Toranoana requires you to use a intermediary shipping service. In either case, please give me a heads up if you need help!
You can find it on AliceBooks here: http://sp.alice-books.com/item/show/8216-1
It’s 94 pages in B5 size, containing comics, illustrations, a short story, and a novelty postcard.
The cost of the book is 1333 yen ($11.86 USD) plus shipping.
For a more detailed sample, please take a look at the Twitter Moment: https://twitter.com/i/moments/1051263023036346368
Thanks again for all your support and interest! For people who purchased the book and have questions, let me know and I can translate!
Do not pirate doujinshi.
If you could take a moment to read and share, I would deeply appreciate it.
This has recently come to my attention:
Please don’t do this.
All the artists worked very hard to make this anthology, so this kind of activity is deeply painful.
Sometimes it can be hard to buy a copy of the book from overseas, I understand this very well.
Please do not use this as an excuse to pirate our hard work, or anyone else’s. If you are confused by how to buy it and need help, please send me a message—I can help you purchase a copy!
Originally, we had thought to print an English version, but a lack of demand made this not feasible. I’d still be happy to translate anything for English speakers who purchase the book.
We are thrilled that people are interested in reading our work!
Please, respect the time and work that we put into making this. Do not scan or repost.
As unfortunate as it is, if we are aware that people will scan and redistribute the book’s content, we can’t comfortably open this book up to online sales.
Thank you all so much for the support!
We went back to look at the post about scanning and re-uploading our work. We were deeply touched to see that many people were leaving supportive and kind responses, and no further word about pirating our book. We hope this message reaches those who supported us, it means so much and we want you to know how grateful we are for your kindness!
We were sad to see people’s disappointment about us selling the book at the event only—we really wanted to make this book accessible for people since we know it’s so hard to order from overseas. This is why we had originally hoped to run an English print in the first place (though unfortunately there wasn’t enough demand to make the offset printing possible!)
We are thinking to continue with our original plan to sell online after all. We’re looking into using Alice-books which is much more convenient for people outside of Japan. For English speakers who are having trouble, please contact me (@jia_ni_ on Twitter) and I’ll do everything in my ability to help you out!
To those who may have thought to scan and reprint our work— Thank you for understanding the feelings that went into making this book. We hope that maybe you have changed your mind because you didn’t post after our message, though we have no way of knowing for certain. We understand that you see things a different way than us. Choosing to respect our wishes despite having a different point of view is honestly so appreciated, and it encourages us to keep creating!
