So last Wednesday I ended up making a serious of minor bad decisions and oversights that led to a major thrown off schedule for my family. Add to that fact that I was then three hours late getting back from my activity for the day… and you have one furious wifey. Being late is her ultimate disrespect, she hates tardiness. Naturally, she had to discipline me.

I have not been late without her foreknowledge in a very, very long time. I thought maybe that would grant me a little grace. That was not the case. Wifey put me across her knee and paddled the living daylights out of my poor posterior. 4 nights later I can still see a little bruising on my finely formed fanny.

I appreciate that she loves me and wants me to improve. I love that she cares for me enough to take action and correct my behavior. But… a real deal punishment spanking will never, ever be fun. I get it, I respect it, but that does not mean I like “it.” Wifey spanks with love, not with mercy. I need to take her discipline with an open heart and learn. This dynamic has changed a great deal for me. Very much for the better. But I “ better” behave. 😊
