I have got the most random thought for you also hi :D
Basically just the hometown dads au but dark worlds exist, and in the newer locations of hometown
The reason I thought of this was because I had the thought of HTD tenna encountering something eerily similar to canon tenna if a dark world were to end up at his place
Also, we need Susie and Lancer absolutely eating log salsa next chapter
Oh, I have thought about this SO MUCH!!
It’s basically an AU of the AU, where the plot of Deltarune happens in HTD Hometown, and there’s an all new arrangement of Darkners.
Ralsei is a Lightner, but his parents research Dark Worlds, which is how he knows how they work. This turns him from a Prince of the Dark to a Scribe of the Dark.
Chapter 1’s Dark World would be the antique store that’s run by Seam. Seam is still a shopkeeper and they’re aware of Dark Worlds, so their dialogue is almost exactly the same. Darkners are then made up of antiques there. The theme of the chapter would be revisiting old memories and nostalgia.
Chapter 2’s Dark World takes place in the craft store. Chet (my Darkner OC) is the lightner shopkeeper there and thinks she’s just having a wild dream. Everyone is made of art supplies! The theme is finding your creative voice and using art to help you process feelings/grief.
Chapter 3’s TV world is almost exactly the same. The difference is that it isn’t Kris’ TV—it’s Tenna’s in his basement, where allllllll of his TV Time memorabilia is.
Tenna AND Spamton fall into the Dark World after the trio and they become the grand prize instead of Toriel. TV World Tenna is basically just canon Tenna, with the difference being that a Big Shot version of Ch2 Spamton is cohosting.
HTD Tenna is confronted with his past mistakes and inability to let go with TV Tenna. They do NOT get along at all and it causes a big blow up that honestly was probably good catharsis for HTD Tenna. Spamton is also getting ire from his Darkner self AND TV Tenna, which causes some dramaaaaa.
The adventure progresses as normal. HTD Tenna and Spamton wake up thinking it was a dream. TV Tenna gets donated to the school.
The theme is about change, both positive and negative.
At the beginning of Chapter 4, HTD Gerson passes away. Susie cannot accept this. Chapter 4 still occurs in the church and Gerson’s Dark form appears as a ghost because his coffin is still in the cathedral (woof). The theme is then about grief and accepting loss, as Susie gets a chance to say goodbye to Gerson and have a final conversation with him, whilst going through the five stages across the course of the adventure.
Can’t speak on the salsa log, but there will be salsa! ;)
